  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Are the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John related to the Old Covenant (Old Testament, Hebrew Bible)?

The Torah was the code of civil, criminal, and regulatory laws for Jews and also for circumcised Gentiles living in Judea. As we know, Jesus did not come to abolish the law and the prophets, and what Jesus taught applies to citizens of other countries who are subject to different types of codes...

Are the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John related to the Old Covenant (Old Testament, Hebrew Bible)?

Jesus asserted that he gave a new commandment: to love God above all things and to love your neighbor as yourself; these two commandments form the basis of the entire law. One of the questions that arises is whether tithing is related solely to this ministry of Jesus as reported in the Gospels...

Are the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John related to the Old Covenant (Old Testament, Hebrew Bible)?

Are the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John related to the Old Covenant (Old Testament, Hebrew Bible) since the Testator (Jesus), who lived, preached, and performed miracles within it, had not yet died? Hebrews 9:16-17 King James Version

    Mary and the early Church

My life was marked by persecution and affronts due to unconventional biblical explanations. The traditionalists hate me, but those who hate me the most are the neo-evangelicals. Joseph was qualified as "son of David", "righteous" and he talked with angels. I'm not going to defend his dulian...

    Mary and the early Church

The Bible states that Joseph was righteous. Therefore, any interpretation of Joseph’s actions must highlight his righteousness.

    Mary and the early Church

If you consider the behavior you explained about Joseph towards Mary as fair, there will be no problems.

Apart from King David, there is respect for governors, did God choose Nero to rule Rome around 65 AD?

I do not interpret the word authority in the text as the person, but the function.

1 Samuel 16:11-12 KJV And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was...

    Mary and the early Church

For instance, consider the genealogy presented in Matthew 1. It includes four Jewish matriarchs with questionable sexual reputations. If a Jew doubted the virgin birth of Mary, he would be obliged, by conscience, to respect her. After all, he would have already read about the four matriarchs in...

    Mary and the early Church

I make the following observation: most Catholics naturally accept many “sexist” biblical translations of Matthew 1:19. The verb there is literally “leave”, in the sense of freeing, even “preserving”. Joseph has two titles in this chapter: Righteous and son of David. Joseph thought that the...

    Mary and the early Church

Eve introduced Abel, who offered to God in a pleasing way. Mary introduced the firstborn of the Church to the world. Both were murdered out of envy by perverse religious people. Mary also introduced the first manifestation of the Messiah in the world by turning water into wine.

    Mary and the early Church

One must have a humble heart to understand the sacred writings in a holistic way. I have a lot to say about Maria, but I believe that Chevyontheriver has already summed it all up.

    Adam, Eve, and Evolution

The Scriptures make it clear that no one can lie in the real presence of God. Therefore, it is certain that Adam did not lie to God. When God gave the command to Adam in Genesis 2:16-17 not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, Eve had not yet been created (Genesis 2:21-22)...

What interrupted the episcopal succession in Jerusalem?

The episcopal succession in Jerusalem, as described in Eusebius of Caesarea's "Ecclesiastical History," is interrupted primarily by what historical events? One of the main events that may have interrupted the episcopal succession in Jerusalem was the destruction of the city by the Romans in 70...
