  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Question

Hi ps139, if this is true what you do is the Catholic staff should be open and share with the community here in OBOB so you have an united front. Catholics are supporting this site, this site benefits from an active Catholic community. Without Catholics, this site would definitely lose its...

    Question

Hi Ps139, I completely agree, Erwin had to enter a protestant interpretation to the Creed for protestants to be able to accept it. All I ask is make it clear to all readers, these personal interpretations represent protestant Theology and not all Christendom. Then nobody has to compromise their...

    Question

Hi Deb, the fact people are listed as Mods/ Supervisors here will make some believe they are Catholics unless they are required to use their faith icon instead of a generic cross. So, in that area I just want people to know the Mods/ Supervisors are not all Catholics when seeing them on other...

    Question

Hi Jeffrey, How does the reader know those additions to the Creed represent Protestant Theology? You get many types of readers, seekers, atheists, lapse Catholics, non-Christians,what if they think all Christendom agrees with those personal interpretations after the Creed. Those who gave us the...

    Question

I was thinking this could be very easily solved that nobody is compromising their belief if Erwin would put a disclaimer before his statements on the Creed as such: * Disclaimer, Protestant theology believe Catholic means, etc. and baptism means etc. instead of making a blank statement on the...

    Question

As some of you might know, I've been waiting to see what CF decides on distinguishing the faith affliation on Mods/ Supervisors in the Congregation section so people will know who represents what faith and not presume its the faith of the congregational sub- forum that they moderate. I was going...

    Catholic Icon and Doctrine Test

Hi gitlance, I share your concern, my main concern is non- Catholic Mods in a Catholic sub-forum who do not reveal their denominations and who express their beliefs in other forums which can go against Catholic teaching and be taken for granted coming from a Catholic from their Mod/Supervisor...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

Thank you for this encouragement, I hope to be able in good conscience to return to this community in the future believing all who come here will not be confused about who is represents our Faith but clearly knowing catholic Supervisors from non- Catholic Supervisors so as to be able to take...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

What if catholics who come here don't ask and just presume all are Catholic Mods/ Supervisors and then get confused on other forums because they did not ask or bothered to look deeply into the other person's faith icon that could just say christian. What if Catholic brothers and sisters do get...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

That's not my concern at all, it's the preception these Supervisors are Catholic. I have no problem with non -catholic Supervisors but let it be quite clear here under some sort of heading, non- Catholic supervisors a part of the ecumenical team.

Don't mean to start trouble but:

How do the Catholic faithful know these Mods/ Supervisor are non-catholics and what if someone presumes they are Catholic and are influenced because they believe them to be a Catholic Supervisor teaching what they believe are the Catholic Church's doctrine. These people are much more highly...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

Its no secret non -catholics do not believe the Catholic Church position on many issues. I don't want people to think because they saw them connected to this forum they are Catholics. It does matter to me if someone is misled because they do not know their faith and presumes all these Mods/...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

The Catholic Faith is well presented here and defended. I have nothing against non- catholic Supervisors if people who visit this forum know that without a doubt, so when they see them engage in other forums that are not under the presumption they Are Catholic and possibly be mislead into...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

I agree but i have not seen any Catholic Mod/ Supervisor misrepresent the faith on other forums. Heres an example: Lets say people that come to this forum presume since so many of our Mods/ Supervisors are Catholic and participate in our threads that all the Mods/ Supervisors are Catholic too...

Don't mean to start trouble but:

Sandy, for me this will be where the road ends here because of the potential of someone being misled by the perception this forum looks completely Catholic and not thinking twice all in Authority are practising Catholics because our Mods/ Supervisors are quite active in threads. This forum is too...
