  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Same-Sex Parenting Study Data Is Systematically Misused

Funny how it is absolutely imperative to mention Obama in a thread that is not even remotely relevant to him. Who is "Michael Bettinger"? Can't find anything on him online... and 40% actually sounds pretty normal... regular males cheat about 50-60% of the time. Infidelity Statistics: What Do...

Argentine Church supports gay civil unions

Argentina: la Iglesia Católica apoyaría la unión civil gay como un "mal menor" - Noticias gays en Universo Gay ... its in spanish In a secular government, theological doctrine should never be a basis for law. There is simply no way around that. Argentina's population overwhelmingly supports gay...

So I hid in the bathroom yesterday....

Don't you think you should ask your husband to have a conversation with him when he's not drunk? It's really out of line to go to someone's house drunk multiple times and expect them to let you in. If it happens again I don't think you should hesitate calling the cops. Prayers

Argentine Church supports gay civil unions

The Church in Argentina has announced support for gay civil unions in that country, as the population has expressed overwhelming support for gay marriage/civil unions. It supports the "civil union" plan as an alternative to calling it "marriage" and allowing gay couples to adopt. The Church in...

    Homosexuality: Catholic and Christian teaching:

I still fail to receive an answer, from a priest or anyone else, on how living a homosexual lifestyle in the manner Fantine described (permanent, committed to one person) impedes a person from loving God with all his mind, soul and strength, and loving his neighbor as himself. Is sexuality...

Obama administration makes blitz of statements to advance LGBT ‘agenda’

I agree that arresting people for harmless voicing of opinion is absurd. But here in America we're no where close to that. LGBT group directors in the UK condemned the cops. It was a clear violation of basic rights that I'm sure was not upheld, and would never be upheld in the US. There are...

Obama administration makes blitz of statements to advance LGBT ‘agenda’

I find it absurd that anyone would consider a leader of a secular government making statements that promote equality and fair treatment in secular society out of line. Secular leaders and laws have no obligation to religious doctrine, especially ones that have little to no civil sensibility.

Can someone explain how ENDA is a threat to "religious liberty"?

I don't see where that is mentioned in the bill (Read The Bill: H.R. 2015 [110th] - GovTrack.us) There is an exemption for religions institutions. The Religious Exemption to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act - Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights

    Catholics...

OU and A&M would be colossal failures in the SEC. A&M has no defense and would get run over by a decent running team, same for OU although they are a bit better. Texas IMO would do OK in both. Wouldn't win the SEC this year but I think they'd definitely be the favorites in the pac-10, no one...

    Catholics...

I'm a big UT fan, not having the annual rivalry with OU would be terrible. OU should go to the Pac-10, although it would be fun to watch them get completely exposed in the SEC. :D

Nah, they benefit so much from not being in a conference. They can get a BCS bid at 9-3 and don't even have to worry about losing to Ohio St or Penn State most years.

    Donohue takes on Lady GaGa

The video was really about her conflicts between supporting the gay community and searching for moral righteousness. If you are stunned and appalled by her style you won't be able to see this, but thats what it is. She is a Christian (not sure if she's still Catholic) but is very supportive of...
