  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    really not praying to Mary???

Ok, just one last question for you if you don't mind. Is it okay if a Baptist or a Catholic decided they would only pray to God, and not to Mary/Saints? Would there be any problem with this from the Church if they were steadfast in this decision?

    really not praying to Mary???

Thanks... Yes, it does paint a good illustration of why Catholics pray to people. However, my only concern is this. If everywhere in the Bible we are told to pray to God, and we come across a passage that we can interpret a few different ways... wouldn't it be more wise to interpret that to line...

    really not praying to Mary???

It sounds like those in heaven can hear what humans say/pray (we don't know if this is sometimes or all the time). Can you show me a scripture which says we should pray to the Elders/Saints? These Elders could hear the saints prayer, but I would think from the teachings of the Bible, that these...

    really not praying to Mary???

I agree we can pray for one another, but you are talking about people whom have died can be prayed to. It clearly does not say "pray to one another". And that is my point. Do you have a scripture which shows we should pray to those whom have died to intercede for us?

    really not praying to Mary???

Can you please point out the scripture which shows that we can pray to saints and they can hear multiple peoples prayer to intercede with God for us. Thanks!

    really not praying to Mary???

Do Catholics believe humans become omnipotent once they die? I would think this attribute is God's alone, and necessary to hear everyones prayer. I think there were people in the Bible whom were reprimanded for attempting to speak to the dead, I could be wrong. Also, just curious, what is wrong...

    Praying to Mary Thread

I pray that you leave religion and come to Jesus Christ. And that picture embodies a bit more praise than you'd like to admit. Ohh by the way, you do realize Mary is not a virgin any longer right? She had some kids after Jesus. I was always curious about why the Catholic church worshiped a...

    There's something about Mary.......

Mary was obedient, but that is not why we can go to Heaven as you stated. God knows the future and if she wasn't going to be obedient, He would have chose another. And, woah rape? What are you talking about, lol? I'm not saying that Mary had to sin. We all have sinned. The point was that...

    I am lost, Please help

I was "born again" before I was baptized. But after my born again transformation, I was baptized to make a public proclamation of my faith in Jesus Christ.

    There's something about Mary.......

It was not Mary's choice but God's. No. Mary needed Jesus to die for her sins just as we did. She was blessed more than other women, but she would not want you to praise her or worship her. Only God is worthy of praise. To Him alone be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

What are your feelings on CCM (or contemporary music, in general)?

I like some of the music... I don't really like the music that makes Jesus sound like your boyfriend. However, here are a few songs that I do like. Sorry it takes up so much room! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-Gxjtd6Wp4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMNP7tLNAYQ...
