  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I miss your messages! How are you doing?

Has any Anti-Depressants worked for you?

I tried one a long time ago when I was deeply depressed, and about two weeks after started taking it, I woke up and the world wasn't quite so black. It didn't fix everything, but it seemed to take the edge off. I'm taking herbs right now, but it seems to be a subtle difference. You really...

    Something to share......

I agree with the others... I have noticed that people's reactions to me have changed rapidly, depending on how confident I appear. It is immediate, at times. I know that it's very hard when you are being affected by medication, but if you can manage a smile and a word, sometimes it will really...

I have such a hard time talking to people in real life...Why?

I think that pretty much describes depression and anxiety, although I don't know that everyone feels quite like you describe. And the fact that you are very much aware of your problems communicating seems to indicate that you're not autistic. You just have a hurdle to overcome (easier said than...

I have such a hard time talking to people in real life...Why?

Yah... maybe you can start a thread on here? I'm new around this forum but it seems like that might be a way to hear from other people. I wish we could all get together and be weird and awkward and shy  It sounds like you are pretty much fine when you are around people who really care...

I have such a hard time talking to people in real life...Why?

Jessica, what you have said, and your being honest about your life is what draws me to this forum. I really appreciate that you've shared all that you have. I've wondered about being hospitalized, too, and it's helped to hear what you have to go through. You were courageous to do it. I'm sure...

    No friends

I don't think that I did this correctly, posting this way with a long quote. Oops. But I just found your post so winsome and clever. It's hard to imagine you with no friends, but I suppose you don't let people see the real you. Is there any way that you can do that?

Depression is such a liar. It causes us to feel unworthy. It makes us think that God's promises are not for us. It makes us overthink all discussions that we have with people (if we have any). So many people feel "weird" when they talk to people, when actually they sound perfectly fine. I hope...

    Help: I quit smoking...now what?

:clap:You are doing a great thing! A little extra food can be dealt with later, as everyone has been saying. I have such respect for people who give up addictions.:clap:

You do an excellent job of making people respond to you on this forum. I know that my heart goes out to you... You are very good at communicating in writing, and it's only a small step to put those skills into words. There are so many people who care about you just from this short thread... I...

Why Do So Many Women Want Children?

I came across this thread and although I don't belong in this forum, I feel I have something to add as one on the other side (married with children). My husband and I did not want children and were annoyed when people would argue that we were selfish for feeling this way. Ultimately we thought...

Please pray that I can keep my job

It does sound like the medication, and it probably will wear off soon, but meanwhile you do have to find a way to get up and out! I've started teaching in the mornings instead of at night, and I loathe it. I feel fuzzy and confused--not a good way to start the day! I set my alarm early and go...

I have such a hard time talking to people in real life...Why?

I haven't been on this board for, like, 4 years, but your post touched me. You sound so honest and aware of yourself, and so ready to change (although it probably doesn't feel that way). One of my daughters is much like you. She's beautiful and smart and gentle, and until this fall has always...

Come on in, the coffee's hot

NO QUESTION, This is my first post--I just found this site. So sorry to hear about your weariness It sounds like you are just tired of fighting depression. I recently felt somewhat like that in the middle of a long, mysterious illness. As I get better, I can't imagine what I had been thinking...
