  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trouble relating to NTs at church

Yeah...I've felt that way many times, but most of the time my fear was unfounded. Often when I would ask, they wouldn't even remembered what I said and stated that they don't remember me saying anything weird at all. My suggestion would be to just approach whoever you the most comfortable with...

I think I want to die.... but then i'm not so sure

Hi Pix! I've been monitoring this post and reading what others have posted, and you have some good advise here. I, too, am so sorry for all of your losses. What you are feeling is completely understandable considering what you have gone through. One thing I want to note - you are sharing all of...

    Impervious to advice

Ladybug, One of the most enlightening statements I learned in therapy was "action preceeds motivation". So many times we are taught that it's the other way around, but what I found is that allot of the times we actually have to force ourselves to do something long before we "feel" motivated to...

    It's me again-a little venting!!!!!

Trish makes some excellent points Jenny. Very good advise. It's difficult for us to give you any specific advise based on the things you tell us. There's always a different perspective and we can only discuss the issue based on the information we have, but it is clear that you are dealing with a...

    need good advice

I'm not one who quickly dolls out advise to break up a family. I think divorce should be an absolutely last measure. However, not fully understanding what type of behaviors your husband is exhibiting I think it's best to consult a family counsellor, at least for yourself if he's not willing to...

    Please help

I agree with unkern. Do you know exactly what you are telling yourself Jo? What are you saying to yourself that is making you feel this way? Maybe we can help you dispell the lies you are telling yourself.

    Social isolation and Christian community

Keep praying about it Walden. God knows your heart better than you know yourself. My guess is, knowing your fears and anxieties, God will send someone to you. Just be open to the idea and be aware. You may be influencing someone right now and not even realize it. Trust in God. His plan never fails.

    need good advice

God Bless you Jenny. If your husband does not want to go to counseling, unfortunately you can not force him to go. If money truly is the only concern though, you may check with your insurance. Many insurance companies cover mental health as well as physical health. It may be more affordable than...

    Symptoms and Support

I agree T. It's therapeutic to talk to others who have shared the same experiences and have overcome them.

    Hello!

Absolutely. That is the viscious paradox of BPD. People, like myself, who suffer from BPD tend to sabotage the very relationships they cling to, then in a desperate attempt to avoid perceived abandonment, engage in self-destructive behaviors. I found going through DBT to be very helpful. I have...

    Any REAL CHRISTIANS out there?

I have noticed that as well. Ironically, these same trolls brush shoulders with Wiccans, Muslims, Taoists, and all other kind of religions without so much as an unkind word. But you mention Jesus, and embrace yourself because the wrath of the world will befall you. Yes, we are called to be...

    Saved?

James: I haven't been diagnosed with OCD and I still have those same questions and fears so I can only imagine what someone with OCD would go through. Hang in there friend. God understands better than you think.

    how do you cope?

FG, when you say you tried talking to someone, are you referring to a counsellor? If so, there is no need to feel "crazy". It's no different than talking to a course counsellor or a career advisor. They are not there to judge you, they are there to give you an objective perspective on what's...
