  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Understanding 2 Peter 1:9?

Thought? Is it as simple as stating to abound in these virtues to stay strong, because those who don't will become weak? Just one thought...

    Understanding 2 Peter 1:9?

Precisely,I refuse to believe it has anything to do with maintaining Salvation. We do nothing to obtain, nor maintain Salvation. Perhaps it's referring to Fellowship with God? Thinking about it in that context seems to feel as if it's atleast a step in the right direction when referring to the...

    Understanding 2 Peter 1:9?

Thread note: This is intended for those who believe Salvation is achieved exclusively by Grace through Faith in Christ Jesus. Thank you. Hi guys, So I posted something similar on the Baptist forums but haven't really got a response. I found this passage the other day and have been wracking my...

    Feeling a little down.

Thanks Brother :) I guess I do allow myself at times to be confused with the difference between condemnation and conviction. When I read passages, even like the ones you provided I feel my heart ache and tell myself:"see, another passage reminding me how I've misused the gift of Christ and still...

    Feeling a little down.

I see, after reading it again it seems to imply simply: A Christian is given these virtues by Faith, and he should continue to grow and build up these virtues to be a strong Christian. Should he not grow them in "ever increasing measure" he is "near-sightedly blind" and basically doubts and...

    Feeling a little down.

Hi guys, been a while. So it took me a while to learn about Christ, and His plan of Salvation. About how repentance works to change your heart, and make you realize you need Salvation. And about how Christ only needs you to place your trust in Him to save you,due to His ultimate payment of sin...

    Help Me

Hello friend, hope all is well. Want to know how to be saved? Here: "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by Faith without the deeds of the Law"-Romans 3 : 28 Imagine it like this. Christ is literally saying," I have paid your debt and I will save you if you trust I will,so will...

    OCD and porn addiction

Hey Brother. Man,I know exactly what your going through... especially the OCD part of it... Matter of fact, for the longest time I thought I was all alone on that field, but I(and you) are not. The grandest thing to remember is your Salvation. Thinking about how God has saved you by Grace...

The Enemy At Work (Blasphemous Video Games) (Rant)

Well,I do agree for the most part. I do this though... I figure games are merely meant to explore ones imagination right? So I sorta "make believe" aspects to make me feel more comfortable. Like diablo 3. How they painted some angels as bad. I just instead imagine that they were actually...

    Christian Imperialism (denominationalism)

Actually, yes. As others have pointed out. Gentiles, does indeed mean "nations"... as in,every other nation besides Isreal. Surly that isn't too complex to understand is it mate? Yes,Christ did want to call upon the lost sheep of Isreal. The Spiritually lost, sinful people of Isreal...

    Christian Imperialism (denominationalism)

Indeed,as ToBeLoved said. Isreal is not the church, nor is the church called Isreal. Isreal is Isreal...God's chosen people. The "Church" is the body of Christ, which consists of Believing Jews and Gentiles alike.

    True Believing Christian

I've already said my peace in this thread, but I just wanted to add. This legitimately hurt my heart to read this. I suggest that we all pray for "aChildOfMary". I too believe as miamited, that the only people in Heaven will be Believers. People who have searched for God-for the Truth. I...

    True Believing Christian

Well,I'd say GoodBook has given the best advice so far. Your friend means well... she probably really does... However, she is misguided and wrong. She might not know it,but you do. Don't sweat it. Let alone, compromise your faith. You might even use it as an opportunity to witness to her...

The church of my youth had a split

Amen Brother. I did not want to intervene in their conversation, seeing as we have conflicting beliefs compared to them, but I suppose we owe it to speak Truth one way or another. What the rest of you say seems to neglect one teaching... you all were quoting 1 John alot but you all skipped one...
