World War II Vet Freezes to Death After Electricity Shut Off

:( There should definitely be laws about not turning off peoples' heat during certain months. And government funds provided to back that up.

    Major faith struggles

Hi everyone, I figured there may be some other people on this particular board who share some of my struggles, so I figured I'd share. I became a Christian when I was about 15 (I'm 25 now). My family never went to church (well, we did go to Presbyterian church when I was very young, but my mom...

    Video: funny? or not?

^_^ I'm going to post this on my facebook. I have some right wing friends who will cry blasphemy and pray for my immortal soul.

    Emergent?

Okay, thanks for the input :) I'm somewhat involved in an 'emergent cohort' (just a meeting of emergent-minded people, but I hope that a house church starts soon), so I'm def. into emergent village things :)

Minn. abortion clinic rammed by SUV; man arrested

Exactly! Many of the people that have bombed clinics could have very well killed unborn babies (maybe some already have, I don't know).

    Ehm... 'Sufferers'?

To be honest, I feel that I 'suffer' from AD(H)D. I don't find it offensive. I like who I am in general, but I would change my can't-focus-can't-be-organized-can't-be-on-time-constantly-scattered tendencies in a heartbeat. Do you think 'struggle' would be more appropriate?

Punks in the Church....what are you're thoughts?

^_^ Agreed. I think it's silly to even think that the fact that someone "looks punk" (btw- having piercings/tattoos does not make one 'punk') means that they are non-Christians, or Christians in need of reform or to be "cleaned up", or something. Some of the most amazing Christians I've met...

    Emergent?

Hi all, Is there a specific place for people interested in the emergent movement? The search function isn't working for me for some reason. Thanks :)

What do you think of this?

It might creep me out a little. But I would also put on my skeptical psychology cap and think of the reasons that she thought of my me other than the Spirits leading, lol. I once had a lady that I babysat for walk out of her living room into the kitchen where I was. She looked rather...

I've always been able to relate to women more than men

I often feel more comfortable with males than females. First, flirty banter is fun (lol, just bein' honest), but I'm also a "I say what's on my mind" kinda person, and guys seem more receptive to that sometimes.

    Jesus: Flavour of the week?

 I understand. Not about the 'friend converting' part, but about feeling jealous of people who seem so sure of and enthusiastic about their faith. Most days I'm glad that I just don't swallow whatever I'm told, but other days I envy my friends that seem sooooo sure about stuff.

Weight Issue (please don't read if you have eating disorders)

 I'm not overweight but I have been in the past and I know how difficult it can be  Despite not being overweight, I really should work out more, seriously. I have to walk to the third floor for my Spanish class, and I have to stop at the 2nd floor stairwell and take a few breaths...

    The Five Love Languages

I just mentioned this in another thread so I figured I'd post about it. There's a series of books by Gary Chapman called "The Five Love Languages" (one for spouses, one for kids, etc.). 'Love languages' are ways that we best receive love. The five are: Quality Time Acts of Service Receiving...
