  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    i love looking for antique books. it is a lot of fun! i also find antiques like slates the kids used for doing their lessons. :thumbsup: i have 1 slate.

    Where do you go for quiet time?

    if i want time alone i go to our bedroom. i usually go there to write up the next days lesson plan for the girls for homeschooling. no one bothers me because hubby makes sure! :D

    i collect antique 19th-early 20th century schoolbooks. i have about 65 books with subjects ranging from primers, readers, math, spelling, grammar, geography, & some classics. we homeschool so i use all the books minus the geography books. we do look at them but not for studying like one...

    things to be happy about

    that my family is healthy that im healthy that my husband has a good job & makes good $ so that i can stay home & homeschool our girls we bought our home almost 2 years ago & its a nice feeling to be a homeowner Amethyst ;)

    BIG U2 fan here since i was 11. :) my husband was going to suprise me with concert tickets next week to see them in september but i figured it out on my own when i saw the ad in the paper! :D poor guy! im so excited!:clap: it will be such a great experience. i can not wait to go & see them...
