Coronavirus more deadly than the flu?

Archived Estimated Influenza Illnesses, Medical visits, Hospitalizations, and Deaths in the United States — 2017–2018 influenza season | CDC I guess the article I referenced didn't have the updated real number of deaths. The CDC did estimate that there were 80,000 flu deaths in the 2017-18...

US now has most COVID-19 deaths, surpassing Italy (ETA: more than Italy per capita)

I am seeing that it helps people get discharged without being intubated. People in their 70s who leave the hospital and drive themselves home. Our head infectious disease doctor is very involved in many of the studies for the various drug studies. Where are you getting your information?

To those who wear fabric masks...

You are right. It may not have Covid on it. But it might have microscopic mold growing on it from the moisture of your breathe on it. Covid isn't the only thing in the air. But yes, if you only need your mask every 3 days or so, then the Covid virus likely would die. As for your...

There's a practical reason to hoard toilet paper.

I know a lot of people who will only use their home toilets for the "sit down" business. And all the businesses aren't buying any. However, we can get it again with no problem. You may only have 5 brand choices instead of 15 before

To those who wear fabric masks...

A clean mask is not a petri dish. However, a worn one can be...expecially to bacterial or fungal infections. When you exhale, you introduce warm moist air to the mask...a great breeding grown for what ever germs you come in contact with during the time you wear it ... like off your hands when...

To those who wear fabric masks...

This fabric still needs to be washed. I can't imagine wearing scrubs multiple days. It just inhibits the bacteria the fabric is exposed to how much it grows. It certainly doesn't "repell" germs (viral, bacterial, or fungal) like I have heard people claim.

There's a practical reason to hoard toilet paper.

Because you don't care if the medical worker caring for you has actually wiped his/her butt clean?....and was too tired after working 12 hour shifts to look at 20 different stores to buy any.

US now has most COVID-19 deaths, surpassing Italy (ETA: more than Italy per capita)

There will not be an autopsy for most hospital covid death because the "cause of death" is known prior to the death. However, there will likely be a few people who have donated their bodies for medical research and can be studied when this disease calms down. Truthfully, from where I sit...

    Stop blaming Blacks!

I don't know a single black person who has been a slave. I was born in 1965 when Civil Rights fight was going on, so the only black people that were really treated poorly related to that kind of racism are older than me (I am almost 55)...but yet, most older black people do not behave poorly...

To those who wear fabric masks...

No, it is a petri dish for bacterial and infections that people may have during this allergy season. The mask isn't disease specific.

Will This Pandemic Lead To Repentance?

Some of the people who are dying are godly Christians. This pandemic isn't because of sin that needs to be repented of (though there is plenty of sin around). But rather it is caused by the fact we live in a fallen world where people do die and are susceptible to illness and death.

You also have to weigh in that there is a 30% false negative rate. That means 30% of those who test "negative" are really positive and either the swab was done incorrectly or the test was taken at a time where there were not enough virus to register positive.

US now has most COVID-19 deaths, surpassing Italy (ETA: more than Italy per capita)

Real statistics won't be available until we start to test for who has antibodies. They asymptomatic people are not needing hospital care. And if they are staying at home and not going around other people, they won't spread it to others. While people are dying and are sick enough to be...

If they die at home and are not on hospice, an autopsy is required to determine the cause of death.
