  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

South Africa change Israeli import label

God was never "hostile" to Israel. The relationship of God and Israel was a covenant relationship - it contained blessings and curses depending on the behavior of the participants in the covenant. When Israel did as the covenant required, which meant obeying God, the blessings were in play...

South Africa change Israeli import label

Yeah, the irony is deafening. What does SA expect? Are they backing the Palestinian Charter, now? That document calls for the destruction of Israel, as put into motion by every man, woman, and child in Palestine - which, oddly enough, declares all Palestinians combatants (and therefore there are...

    Myers-Briggs personality types

I'm an INTJ, in a big way - I peg out on some of the classifications. That said, note that the MBTI (the type indicator) is *definitely* not meant to be categorically accurate - Jungian type theory is based on a lot of things hat are variable *even now* so it's perfectly valid to be typed out...

order of a Scripture indicates importance ?

I wouldn't worry too much about it - Scripture consists of tensions between concepts. To ascribe importance to order is probably fine, but you'd have to use exegesis to decide the actual order as written in the original, and honestly it's not a valid effort IMO.

    Deuteronomy 22:5

All things are permitted, while not all things are profitable. Many things in the Bible exist along a continuum - and taking everything as an absolute will drive you absolutely crazy. ("Judge not!" "Judge!") There's a balance. As far as these two films, well, I haven't seen them, but I don't...

Evangelical Free Church (Who are they?)

From wikipedia: In its Statement of Faith, the Evangelical Free Church of America affirms the authority and inerrancy of the Bible; the Trinity; atonement through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ; original sin; Christ as head of the church and the local church's right to self government; the...

    Video Cameras During Services

Plus, many churches film the service itself but what you see of the church members is mostly the backs of their heads. IMO, the problem is being overthought; while it's possible that the information could, in fact, be used as you describe, the investment of effort for the reward is...

Was Jesus Christ rich or poor?

He was fulfilled in everything He needed. Is that "rich" or "poor"?

    Song Lyrics

I'm a musician, too, and I *do* write my own music, but what would you do with Born ? (Just interested in what you'd end up with.)

I need scriptural help BADLY!! I feel so convicted!!!!

God says he is able and wiling to forgive ALL sins. All who are saved have sinned; all sins are just as bad to Him, no matter whether they're "small" or "large." (See Romans 1-2). Yet God saves us no matter our condition; if you've taken your sin, no matter what it is, to God, you are forgiven...

    The fruit of our threads

Not necessarily - the response is up to the people responding, based on the fruit THEY produce, IMO. If someone posts something vulnerable and real and Godly, and someone turns it into a flamewar over whether Wii is better than XBox, that's on them, not the original poster.

Why did SAUL NEED to be Saved ?

Paul described elsewhere that despite all of those things he was NOT blameless before God. He was describing himself in Phillippians to justify himself to the Judaizers.

Why did Christ have to die?

Well, Hebrews is an excellent book to explain it, but here's my attempt nonetheless: 1. God requires perfection in His presence. 2. Being in His presence is for what we are designed. 3. Man has sinned, or fallen, such that we are not perfect (therefore we are unable to be in His presence.) 4...

    The Name

Hey, it's a fair question. I received the Name's pronunciation from my father, who received it from HIS father, and so forth and so on. I'm not under the illusion that the pronunciation of the Name might not be as originally spoken to Moses; it's just that it was given to me as it is, and I have...
