  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Remaining humble after being used by God

I'm amazed how patient the Lord is with us. Sometimes you can really sense how God is using to encourage, serve or help someone and at the same you sense you feel the pride just swelling up your heart. I don't know if I have ever done anything out of totally pure motives. Sin is just so...

Why do we as Christians only take some things from the OT?

Johnz, great reasoning. We should follow apostle Paul in this matter, he was a Pharisee of Pharisees and knew the Old Testament intimately and yet he says these kind of things: For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Rom 10:4) For freedom Christ...

    The power of prayer

Great testimony! It's not the eloquence or the fervency of the prayer that makes it effective but just the simple trust in the Lord and honesty about our own weakness. Because God can be effective in that situation, not ourselves.

Confessions of a very sexually immoral man who wants to stop

I think there is weakness for lust in everyone of us, the degrees just vary. If I've had courage to do what you did I would have. I think key is just to start exploring your heart about your motivations, like Romanseight2005 said above. What are you looking for from this promiscuous sex...

    Theological studies

Thanks for your prayers. Sometimes we need just to hear from God to know His will.

    Theological studies

Since the day I was saved I've felt great desire to understand the Bible and theology and help others to understand the Scriptures. Over the years I've consumed the Bible and other Christian literature quite much. I have pretty good grasp of theology and the Bible as an enthusiastic lay person...

    Turning away from sinful desires??

If we really knew a quick standard solution for this problem you're describing, we could make millions by selling devotional books :D What I see is the problem is that we really have a sinful nature that completely corrupted my sinful desires. It's going to be there until we have been released...

    Lonely please help!?

Do you spend time anywhere where you have change to meet people? That's the first step to take.

Feeling called by God .... Or am I? *Confused*

I think Christians should have a healthy understanding of supernatural things and spiritual warfare. Too often we in the Western world think so "scientifically" that we rule out the possibility of supernatural activity in our world. So in that way God wants you to be aware and discerning. God...

    My girlfriend may be close

I think you should explain your girlfriend that a person is saved only through faith in Jesus Christ. What is faith? Faiths is only a simple trust that Jesus has paid your sins by His death on the cross and that He is risen from the grave (1. Cor. 15:1-5). Faith is not moral reformation...

I need advice about living with Non-Christian friends...

The Bible is pretty common sense in this issue. If you only hang out with unbelievers you will suffer. The one who associates with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20 In your case this suffering is emotional pain because you can't the share deep things...

I shared Jesus Christ with a stranger for the first time today.

Yeah, that's our God! He is amazing! The Holy Spirit is always faithful to strengthen us when we share about Jesus even though we might not get any results immediately.

    Backsliding a bit.

I think you are manifesting the fact that we need real fellowship to advance spiritually. Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. (Pro 13:20) We need friends, for God's sake! Saying just "Hello, how's it going?" to someone in the church at Sunday...

Will I ever get over this?

I'm glad you were helped by my words. We always have some deep beliefs that affect our behaviour and expectations. Somewhere deep in our hearts we think that God is not able to take care of us. Now when you realize this you can start seeking God and talk about this anxiety with Him. I think...

Is living with someone due to complex circumstances wrong?

I don't think there is anything sinful in this arrangement, especially because you live with your parents that can have eye on you. :) I bet there are some cultures somewhere in the world where the would-be bride comes to live with the would-be in-laws.
