  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What Bible Translations Do You Use?

One has to ask themselves what is the Word of God and how does one know? That being said I read the KJV.

How to know what church to go to

As a consultant I travel a lot and every 3-6 months or so find myself looking for a church for worship, praise, learning, and fellowship. Understand that churches are an organism not an organization. The culture/personality of each local assembly is different even within the same...

Baptists are on what side of the line?

Churches can very so much because they are made of people. People have differing culture, personalities, and range in demographics. Irrespective of this we are ALL called to have the character of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ teaches us in Mathew: 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men...

    Good person v/s Door mat

Every situation I have seen like this has never ended well. Tell them you love them too much to let them live with you.

How can any God allow this?

So if everything is made of energy, and it can not be destroyed, then by your own logic God did not kill anyone, their energy still exists. So what is your issue?

KJV is the basis of all my study.

    God's goodness

What you’re talking about are the concepts of moral absolutism and moral relativism as it pertains to a "ethical dilemma". If the Bible is nothing but a silly superstition, then one has to determine what their moral authority is. If understood yours it would help me respond to your post.

    What do you think?

Prayer, reading the word of God, fellowshipping with other Christians will strengthen your faith. Your husband should lead the spiritual growth for the family. My walk with Christ changed when I went to church to be a blessing, not to receive blessings (which I do)

Do you worry about the parenting choices you've made?

There are times when my wife and I are "child focused" (we have a 5 and 8 yo) and we see that our relation with God and our marriage is lacking because of it. This intern ultimately hurts, God, our marriage, and our children. Once we get back to the right pattern everything gets better !

Do you worry about the parenting choices you've made?

I think everyone does to some extent. I have much more confidence now then before I was saved and had children. The world tells us that children are our #1 priority in parenting. Sounds logical, but it is not the pattern God has given us in his word. If you keep your relationship with God #1...

    Happy Atheists Day!

Tim, I understand your frustration with Atheist. As an Business Executive in an Engineering field, I see a LOT of smart atheist/agnostic people that I witness to. In reading this thread and thought I would ask you to consider if your post exhibit the fruit of the spirit as described in...

Which section of the NT is the most influential to your Christian walk?

I agree that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness", but the question was which was most influential. It could be that because of a specific experience in your life, or a particular gift you...

Do you believe Jesus will return in your lifetime? If so, why?

I think Paul says it best in his letter to the saints in Philippi: Chapter 1 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart...

The King James Bible is Perfect

It is a profound question: What is the world of God? Where can it be found and how can I be sure it is truth? The apostle Paul wrote to the evangelist Timothy, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2...

    A tough question

Threads like this remind me that Paul was a Christian killer before he was saved. The Grace of God is amazing.
