I enjoyed reading through this tract again. I used to pass it out when I was younger. Most of the verses in it I have memorized. Thanks for posting it here jason.
"Threaten" is probably not the word to be used, and the preaching of the Word of God can be taken as "threatening" by people, when it simply is a matter of proclaiming prophecy and truth. Matthew 7:21-23; John 3:16; John 3:36 all could be wrongly taken as threats.
The Bible actually warns us a lot about hell. The Scriptures say that the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil (Proverbs 16:6). Paul says work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). Why all the trembling if it is not talking about fear? Jesus says repent or perish (Luke 13:3). Jesus says fear the one who can destroy both body and soul in Gehenna (i.e. the Lake of Fire) (Matthew 10:28). God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Jude talks about those who save using fear to pull some people out of the fire (Jude 1:23).
So I think you may be reading a different Bible than me and you are wrongfully accusing a fellow brother (Who has passed away in the Lord).
