  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i saved them from the belly of a snake...from a pet store where they were about to be fed to a snake. Rats never bite if you raise them from babyhood...they come to you when called by name and become incredibly bonded to their masters....they are incredibly intelligent and behave like a combo between a ferret and a dog. Their shannanigans cracked me up...always stealing and hording things like my jewelry, magazines, bills and even cash. I always found stashes all around my apt. They make great, low maintence pets, but it's critical you get them in pairs or in threes since they are very social and will get depressed if alone. they also need free range time outside their cages everyday...they are not like hamsters or gerbils at all....their brains are incredibly developed which is why they are used so much for research. It's sad that they are viewed as vermin and frighten so many people. The opposite is true of them....they are cleaner than cats and groom themselves obsessively as well as each other. They won't ever smell or even eat dirty food...if they do, it's because you haven't cleaned their cage. They can also be trained to go to the bathroom in a designated spot like a litter box....which my rat did. she was very picky with food and disliked touching sticky food as well as being near her litter box. She spent most of her time sleeping tucked in my shirt and often groomed me since i was dirtier than she was. she even slept in my bed with me, in the dog's fur and even tried to cuddle with my kitten several times, though my kitten thought she was a chew toy.
