  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Vatican City State has strict immigration and entry laws, which are among the most restrictive in the world. Access to the state is tightly controlled by the Swiss Guard, and illegal entry is a serious offense punishable by heavy fines (up to 25,000 euros), prison sentences, and long-term bans from entering the territory.

Look at God's commandments to the Israelites about keeping the purity of their country when God gave it to them. Given that, it seems hard to believe that God is against countries having strong borders.

This is typical of liberalism. They turn truth on its head and stoke the fires of racism and divisions for political gain. And no im not a republican. Im a disciple of Jesus

Thats not true. Illegal immigration breaks the law.
So does parking illegally. Neither, though, are criminal offences.
Peter said to obey every ordinance of man.
How many do you obey. Peter didn't obey every law of man.. He refused to worship pagan gods.
The pope should be shamed for not rebuking it.
Should he rebuke you and I ? Neither of us are perfect.
He partners with lawlessness
So do you.

Its a misdemeanor. Thats a criminal offense. Peter wouldn't have broke immigration laws in order to get money

Thats rebellion against God's government authorities. Its a sin that provokes God's wrath
When God's government authorities (?) disobey the Constitution of their country upon which all our laws should be based, they--and the president, DHS Secretary, and superiors who give them immoral orders--provoke God's wrath.

Every president gets scolded by the SCOTUS. Biden did as well. But immigration laws are not unconstitutional themselves

Peter refused to worship pagan gods, which was the law in ancient times. So, Peter refused to obey all the laws of nations that he entered, spreading the Gospel.

Why are you separating immigration laws from other laws? The Apostles were immigrants in the nations they traveled to. Those that came after the Apostles were immigrants in many places that they traveled to. None obeyed all of the laws many nations where they went.

In the US, an immigrant that entered illegally but applied for refuge is no longer an illegal immigrant. They are protected by law but many people continue to call them illegal immigrants.

You're mistaken. Peter said to obey every ordinance of man. Paul said failing to do so is rebellious against God. There is no reason for millions of people to break immigration laws and claim its God's love

Why dont you tell the pope to take in millions of illegal immigrants? He doesn't do that. They enforce their immigration laws

The Catholic Church does help millions of immigrants. They feed them, house them, and help them medically, etc..
He doesn't do that. They enforce their immigration laws
And they also back immigration laws in nations around the world.

America takes in half the world's immigrants. The Vatican also fines, imprisoned, and deports illegal immigrants
