Initially it did look and sound like Pretti had fired the gun as you see the agents jump back and one of them starts firing but as more videos came out it's clear that his gun was taken from him and he didn't fire it.
What's more foolish looking: falling victim to a well done Poe's Law, or claiming that Pretti fired a gun himself (thus providing cover to handwave away ICE culpability)?

Maybe a country where just about any citizen over 18 can legally purchase and carry a firearm around, isn’t such a good idea?

No I don’t think so. Where do you see any exaggeration? I know you know bad police work when you see it. There’s no way you believe these agents are all acting professionally. They don’t have the support of the community they are policing. Their presence isn’t wanted by the community, local leadership or probably even local law enforcement as they’ve only made the Minneapolis PD’s job that much harder and now their actions and operations in the city have cost two citizens their lives.
I really don't think it matters who shot first. Pretti brought a gun to a supposed "peaceful protest" and was violent to federal officers in a high stress environment. His father even warned him not to start trouble. He even stated that although he had a license, his son never concealed carried, especially with multiple fully loaded magazines. It is clear that Pretti came to the protest prepared for a gun fight. The late great Johnny Cash said, "Don't bring your guns to town, boy. Leave your guns at home, Bill." I think the bigger issue is that Democrat elites, particularly in this case, Tim Walz, is trying to radicalize people into becoming their kamakazi suicide drones to distract away from the current scandals surrounding him and the fraud. Just think about it. Democrats have argued that more people have been deported by Barack Obama than by Trump. Yet there were no protests. Nobody was rioting. ICE officer wore civilian clothing. No riot gear or body armor was needed. So what changed?
You shouldn’t interfere with law enforcement officers who are making an arrest and you shouldn’t resist arrest

It’s too late for that. Our city streets have already been flooded with these poorly trained, violent imbeciles. A responsible government would see the effect their mission is having on the public and course correct.
