You're on the right track. Yes the warrants are different. I can't enumerate the differences, but I do know they are.
The current administration considers one a "sanctuary city" if the local enforcement agency(s) do not assist Border/Immigration with the local resources.

The city I live in has been deemed a "sanctuary city." All the mayor/police department has said is that they will not use their (our) local resources to assist/facilitate the federal enforcement. They stay out of the way and do not hinder.. but do not take resources from the city for federal use. I don't want tax dollars earmarked for local use commandeered by the Feds, ymmv. They have their own funding and resources.

So tell me, during the Obama administration, the governor of Arizona tried enforcing immigration law because they felt that the federal government was not doing their job. So it went to the Supreme Court, and it was ruled that only the federal government can enforce immigration law. How far will will I let the federal government take over a state's responsibility? That is a dumb question because enforcing immigration law is strictly a federal responsibility. A responsibility that these mayors and their lunatic followers are trying to obstruct. Akita is wrong that it is a state responsibility, but it is not "only" a federal matter. Arizona v. United States begins, "The Federal Government’s broad, undoubted power over immigration and alien status rests, in part, on..." What this means is that the federal government is the primary actor when it comes to immigration. States may cooperate with the federal government in various ways, but they cannot establish their own immigration laws in a way that is independent of the federal government.

The bottom line here is that Akita's claim that the federal government has usurped the state government's jurisdiction vis-a-vis immigration is simply false on its face.

I think you can infer it when it talks about a one year penalty for simple assault and then talks about a longer sentence "where such acts involve physical contact with the victim of that assault or the intent to commit another felony."

She failed, the ICE officer survived. Like the rest of ICE, who are trying to deport the worst of the worst, they are protecting immigrants and the rest of us. The longer it take ICE to get the sexual predators and other violent criminals that Walz and Frey saw released into the population, the more victims there will be.
