  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh I've read it all right. I'm just fed up with the trans agenda and trying to make women into.men and men into women. Stating transmen are men and transwomen are women. No they arent. And the ability to naturally biologically give birth is evidence of that.

Its a comedy to think otherwise.

Males can't have babies, but a female living and presenting as a man (i.e. a trans man) retains the reproductive organs of a female and can most definitely have babies.
Yes because she is a woman. A woman with a mental illness, but a woman none the less.

Censorship battles’ new frontier: Your public library
“It came to my attention a few weeks ago that pornographic filth has been discovered at the Llano library,” wrote Bonnie Wallace, a 54-year-old local church volunteer. [In Llano County, Texas]

[County] Leaders have taken works as seemingly innocuous as the popular children’s picture book “In the Night Kitchen” by Maurice Sendak off the shelves
Oh the 5th Circuit that lovable scamp! Overturning itself in the Llano case.

Fifth Circuit: Public Libraries May Select or Remove Books Based on Viewpoint

Decision itself.

IANAL, but I also sense the decision reads in a testy colloquial manner that sounds like it could have been produced by a CF poster. Fess up whoever it was!

Supreme Court declines to hear appeal on Texas book ban case that allows officials to remove objectionable books from libraries

Sam Helmick, president of the American Library Association, said the Supreme Court’s decision not to consider the case “threatens to transform government libraries into centers for indoctrination instead of protecting them as centers of open inquiry, undermining the First Amendment right to read unfettered by viewpoint-based censorship.”

Texans will be protected from texts like They Called Themselves the K.K.K: The Birth of an American Terrorist Group, by Susan Campbell Bartoletti

Its nice to know that at least for now communities have local control on what the kids have access to.

Well? I doubt anyone is reading that obscure book anyway. I don’t like book banning or censorship but i also understand why some material needs to be age appropriate. I guess I have overall mixed feelings? I dunno.

Is there a minimum amount of readers a book should have before people are allowed to read it?
