  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sounds as if the D's are willing to partner up with criminals in order to win elections. Isn't that something that can be prosecuted under RICO statutes?
Whereas the Rs prefer to do their own criming themselves?

We are not yet living as a world in Christs kingdom. It was God himself that separated the nations and created the frame work for different cultures. It is nonsense to try define this presently fallen world by trying to use kingdom principles that Christ himself has not yet implemented on this entire planet.

Is it non-sense to follow the kingdom principles as articulated by Jesus?

Gee, remind me again, in the last election, which party ran a convicted felon and which ran someone who prosecuted criminals?

That’s not what I said ! Maybe you should reread the post.
Revelation 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. This is not yet a reality!

I read your post. Maybe you can explain to me how your understanding of Jesus' words supports demonizing other people based on their country of origin?

Show me where I “demonized “ people based on their country of origin? Where is your proof?

You do not strike me a someone who has an intimate view of immigrants. That is why I ask for data, not anecdotes.

An anti-immigration think tank and an extreme source with low credibility? OK. I'll look at what they say but I am not going to put much stock in their claims.

I can't say that I have an answer to that question. Though it does concern me that we should find it difficult to identify something uniquely American about our culture. For me I think it not so difficult, but it has to do with being a nation of immigrants who work together to be a beacon of freedom and ingenuity. That does not seem to resonate so much right now with our trying to kick everyone out.
Do you agree that there are some mentalities and cultures that directly oppose, or is incompatible with the American Identity, culture, and western civilization?

No that goes a bit to far for me, but I would say there are some mentalities that are incompatible with American ideals. Anyone who would promote silencing other views for example.

Like those who practice Islam who want to enforce Sharia law in the United States? Like a mentality that suggests it is Okay to kill people who does not submit to Islam?

They are not what you claim them to be, AND they have real facts in those articles.

Some of them, yes. Simply because a law is Sharia does not make it anathema to US ideals. Just like many Christian laws would be fine in the US.
Like a mentality that suggests it is Okay to kill people who does not submit to Islam?
That would certainly be right out, yes.

Yes they are. Don't insult my intelligence trying to deny what is easily verified.

I'm not attempting to insult anyone's intelligence.

The data shows that a majority of Somalian immigrants in Minnesota are living off of government funded programs.
