  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That doesn’t make sense. If I heat one air particle, will it rise or not? How is the density of one particle affected?
There is no such thing as a particle of 'air'. Just what is your level of education?

Ok well in that case I don’t see gravity being a contributing factor to this case.
Gravity keeps the atmosphere from drifting off into space (mostly).

It makes no sense why if one particle is not affected by gravity then why several would.
Everything in the universe is affected by gravity. The more massive the more effect. But you are conflating mass with density. For example- why does ice float on water?

The atmosphere is not plasma, but it contains small amounts of plasma. You don’t see the “line of plasma across the sky,” because it is virtually not there and would not extend beyond the atmosphere, even if it was formed by lightning or a very powerful laser.
So then what tells the virtually not there line of plasma to stop and form the moon? And who or what is firing the light rays?

So there would be a line of plasma stretching from the moon back to whatever fired the beam of light. What fired the beam of light? Why don't we see the Moon as a line of plasma across the sky?

No as you know the focal point is where there is enough concentration of energy.

Plasma is energised gas. You need to energise it beyond a certain point to create plasma, such as lightning.

The moon is a solid sphere that reflects the light of the sun. Thus, there a phases as the relationship between the sun, moon and earth change.

I already posted a video that explains this.

No it’s not. I just showed you that during a solar eclipse, no object can be seen actually going in front of the sun.

I’m asking how this is related to gravity.
Gravity is what keeps us on the surface of the Earth. On Earth less dense air rises above denser air as there are most available states for the various atoms that make up 'air' to occupy. It's not unconnected with why things evaporate (but that's not for now). That's because of Entropy but I don't want to have to spend hours explaining that to you if you don't grasp the current discussion.

You say that how is one to know that for sure? On one hand I have your idea that the moon is an object that reflects light and obeys what we know about orbital mechanics in such way that we can make accurate predictions of it's motion, but the other hand I'm reliably informed that there's these beams of coherent light coming from somewhere(?), fired by something(?) that ignite the atmosphere into plasma but not until it converges at a point because of something(?) and that is what the moon definitely is.

You can see the epistemological bind I'm in.

Can you put it into your own words? The video did not seem to answer my questions but if I missed it I'd be obliged if you could point it out to me.

You have to assume that your “reliable information” is wrong. That is not uncommon.

What makes the energy stop at the focal point?

It doesn’t stop it’s concentrated the same way you have a focal point in magnifying glasses to concentrate light which is why you have two magnifying glasses and focal points in the great music video of Soundgarden.

It is Antarctica that encircles the earth, as ice melts at 33 degrees, therefore lets hope Antarctica doesn't have a heat wave,
The UK doesn't use the Fahrenheit scale.

Cosmic energy from the black sun below is split into two polarisations in the polestar and then concentrated in their respective focal points in our atmosphere. This explains why objects in the moon light are actually colder than in shade.
