CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Public assistance does not have an infinite supply. You say we need young workers to replace the aging population, more people on government assistance does not help with this issue, and immigrants tend to send much of the money they do earn back to where they came from

No, but it's got a pretty big one.
It does if it goes to immigrants who are themselves young and who also have babies in greater numbers than native-born Americans.

I would not know I do not read newspapers, have no radio or TV.
What I have is reality, what I see before my eyes, and all in all generally speaking, I admire especially Muslim women I see them every day
they do a fantastic job, seeing children off to school, humping shopping etc.
Even driving busses, always quick to smile.
What spured me to comment in the first place was the mention of refugees in the OP, Mary and Josef were not fleeing at the time of nativity there was a sensus, folk counting and registering.
Their refugee status came into play when they had to flee to save the child.

Paid for by the government with the endless supply of money, even though there are more people dependent on government assistance. But I guess that’s the goal, create more people that are dependent on the government who will vote for the party that gives them the handouts.
My wife is a 4th grade teacher and her students tell her that they will not have to work because they can get a check
