  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are some of your guns own and use then for Hunting and target practice?

The Nylon 66 was a dandy, H&R single shot 410 and later 20 gauge.
So many new calibers for today, but the real truth is that one can hunt with the old standards just as well as latest and greatest, as would take 270 win over the "miracle" 6.5 Creedmore any day of the week for hunting

Henry are nice, very accurate for lever action rifle

yeah but I got tired of working it and not enough bang. I mean it I need a certain amount of recoil.
What is interesting is that with modern bullets and faster twist rate barrels, old war horses like those can keep right up with modern day guns such as the Creedmo

some had accelerated rifling. Are you referring to the 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser?

was referring to that with faster twist rate barrels and copper bullets, calibers such as 270 win/30 06 can kept very well with the latest and greatest ones such as the creedmoors, and western and Prc rounds

Sorry I’m old school. I have a 6.5x57 Mauser. But I like shooting jhp in it. Not lead. The old jackets they had were thin steel or something. They keep up pretty good now with modern stuff. New riflings? A cut above.
