Only if you presume what he said is correct. Since then the Navy (DoD?) have said that they can't give the names of those killed because they don't know them. So how can they know that they were drug smugglers, they don't know who they are and they haven't presented the cargo in the boats.

My point is that Trump seems to be at least a sloppy communicator, or ok with embellishing the story. Both are bad traits in my eyes.

This is only season one. Even Pence was thought to be in for the long haul until that little incident in January put him on the wrong side of things - the side of the law.
