Indeed, holiday shopping looks good:How would you know when Trump is not releasing Q3 GDP data? The layoffs certainly suggest the economy is not picking up, other than maybe holiday shopping.

The National Retail Federation released its annual holiday forecast and predicts retail sales in November and December will grow between 3.7% and 4.2% over 2024.
While the labor market has slowed, remember inflation is down and wage growth (the last figure I know of is for September) is around 5%.
