The ACA (aka, "Obamacare") did put in a requirement to have health insurance and provided a marketplace for purchasing individual policies. I'm sure there were other regulations put in place, but not being well versed in them I couldn't comment. As prior to 2010, health care in the US is still primarily controlled by private insurance companies and private medical practices for non-veteren, non-poor persons under age 62.

I have no doubt you could put together a long list of examples here from the Obama administration, but the economy functions as it did before and after Obama for the vast majority of people.

Inflation was 2-3% annually throughout the Obama presidency. There was a burst of spending in 2009 to fix the consequences of the Financial crisis of 2008.

Trump won the election much because of his stance on deporting illegals while having those who apply legally and are legally approved welcomed to our country, controlling crime, and an improved economy. That's not going to change.

Unfortunately, what is broken in the character of the American people is still largely broken and why we live in this proto-authoritarian state.

Well, yeah - hence the word "seems" in my sentence. I don't know your inner thoughts, so can only go by what you've posted. From the tone of your posts, there seems to be a complete lack of compassion for the situation which the deportation of a parent of a U.S. citizen creates. Is undocumented immigration against the law? Yes. But do you show the same disdain for the law breakers who are pardoned by our president - and by my estimation, who have committed much more egregious crimes?

I don't know about you, but I can much more easily find compassion in my heart for the deported parent than I can for the criminals who Trump pardons on a regular basis. It's hypocrisy on complete display.

Nothing I have said implied that I thought the woman was evil. But my level of compassion for illegal immigration has dried up. Compassion breeds more illegal immigration and human trafficking.

As I've said, the problem in Washington, and I've dealt with extensively with Washington corruption, is that politicians and bureaucrats are worried about how things might look, particularly for their own futures. Concentrating on who is going to win the next election soon after someone is elected rather than doing the right thing is a major problem. Trump doesn't shift policies each week, or change his accent when approaching different audiences, you know what you are getting. He was voted in not because people loved his personality, but because he took stances that most Americans supported. There are still hundreds of thousands of children lost by the Biden administration, only a portion of been rescued, and many dangerous criminals that need to be deported. The runaway inflation caused by outrageous spending needs to be kept in check. And Trump will continue to address these problems. As to Democrats, many radical leaders have tried to hide their agendas from the people (the border is safe, secure, and closed, etc.) The radical arm of the Democratic Party, AOC, Mamdami, Omar, etc. and the people who really controlled the Biden administration are trying to destroy many of the policies and values that made our country great. Most of our presidents shared at least some of those values. It is a matter of how the Democrat base reacts, will so many continue to vote Democrat no matter who runs and see our nation destroyed, or will they reject the radical progressive agenda?

But I dont view illegal immigrants who just want to live, work, and be good neighbors as criminals in the same way as people who steal, kill, harass, intentionally defraud others, etc.

They are not the same. If they come here illegally and live as a resident with no criminal record besides being illegal, then they are not the same. However they are still illegal and should be deported. It doeant matter how long they have been here or how what they have done. They are illegal.

We don't have immigration law that offers different deportations for those who commit those crimes and those that don't. It is ultimately the most consistent law we have. If you are here illegally, you have to go.
