  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God has judged them justly and God alone is the true judge.

Praying for peace throughout our land! Amen!
Yes, we need peace here. And we aren't going to get it allowing people like this in. God won't save us from the consequences of our own foolish actions.

Indeed. No argument from me.

Foolish actions like pointless deployments of our National Guard, putting them in harms way.

Yes. Do you disagree our own actions -actions by the president, in part caused this incident?
As I stated before, I’m not going to defend the president over all his actions. He has been wrong plenty of times before despite me voting for him.

But no. Trump did not cause this. No.

Geeeee, what possible reasons could Afghans have to leave their country and see refuge elsewhere?
Irrelevant if they act like swines that rape, murder and the rest in between after they arrive.

But they come from a country and likely a religious background that is built upon violence towards non-Muslims as well as treating women like dirt.

The sooner we realise Muslims have no place in our society the better.

Not the shooting, no... but how did the guardsmen get there? Who ordered their deployment? The president did, yes?
Any time any president has deployed the national guard into an unstable place / situation their lives are at risk. They know that, their families know that, the public knows that, the government knows that, and the president knows that. That's how the military including the national guard works. You are put into a situation that can result in being wounded or killed. These two soldiers getting shot by enemy fire in the line of duty, shows that the national guard is needed there and justifies their deployment.

Your mentality is that troops should not be deployed if it puts them in danger of being shot.

No. Their deployment shouldn't be frivolous. The National Guard are not law enforcement and they aren't on a law enforcement assignment. They've needlessly been put at risk for the president's authoritarian theatre.

Placing an American citizen on an American street should not be considered harms way, but since it is, clearly the necessity isn't as understated as people like to play it out to be.

If they were in no danger at all, then their occupation there would just be frivolous theater. But you're saying it's frivolous theater, and then saying that being in DC puts them in a danger zone. Which makes no sense whatsoever. It's a total contradiction.

When US soldiers are occupying a place where they're in danger of being shot, then their occupation there obviously isn't frivolous. But rather obviously necessary.

When deploying them in our own country is in harm’s way that tends to show that their deployment is necessary

Amen! It blows my mind how certain people seem to have no problem with the Unuted States being flooded with ILLEGAL immigrants or with despicable, radical left policies and rhetoric that fan the flames of hatred, violence, lawlessness and treason. They only have a problem with Trump because he is standing up against the radical left's agenda to destroy America.

Come on, destroy America? They don't want to destroy America, they just want to reshape it to a woke gender fluid commie socialist atheist Islamic Caliphate where the wealth is distributed to those who deserve it most with abortions and gender realignment services are performed free of charge without parental consent at the government run indoctrination centers formerly known as public schools.

I'm sure it will be fabulous.

The article reported that he entered the country in 2021 but was careful to leave out the fact that he is here illegally.

....or the "illegal" part was speculation.

Lakanwal applied for asylum in 2024 and was granted it the following year under the Trump administration, multiple law enforcement officials told CNN.

He entered legally and if aslylum was granted in April of this year (as being reported), he is still here legally.
