  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There are no Bible verses which say that we shouldn't believe scientists.

There is.

King James Bible
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 1 Timothy 6:20.

If you think we should avoid vain babblings, why do you start so many threads on an unimportant subject, that has nothing to do with the Gospel? Threads which end up getting so repetitive and acrimonious that they end up being closed down?

And science then was nothing like science now.
In fact the word is usually translated as "knowledge".

I have no disrespect for you, but why should I believe you?

Because God wants you too, do you think I am doing all these posts on flat earth for joy ? No I am not.

It is still you telling me, not God. Give me a good reason to believe you.

It only indicates that some things called science are false not all science. No problem, asks Fauchi.

Because God wants you too,
No, he does not.

You think that God wants me to believe someone who can watch a Christian testimony, says that she believes it and says "sorry" to God for having doubted - then changes her mind and says that the man giving the testimony is a liar?
You think God wants me to believe someone who, when I said that I believe in a globe earth and in Genesis 1, replied "you can't do"?
You think God wants me to believe someone who takes his word out of context and will not listen to anyone who explains what is being said?
You think God wants me to believe someone who demands proof of things from other Christians, and then, when she gets that proof, mocks and says it is fake?

You have contradicted yourself time and time again - posted YouTube clips which don't say what you claim they were saying and got your facts wrong. You have generally mocked/insulted anyone who has disagreed with you, tried to explain the science behind facts or help you to understand.
Even people with experience and/or scientific knowledge are contradicted. Information recorded in textbooks is dismissed as "hearsay", while anything else is brushed off as "lies".
The only people you listen to are Dean Odel, Rob Skiba, Eric Dubay or any Flat Earther who posts on YouTube. Unless they belong to the Flat Earth society, because they can't be trusted either.

Yes.

I know and it's been hard.
God gave me a brain, such as it is, but I have no idea why I should believe somebody I’ve never met with no proof of their reliability. I don’t have faith in you. I have faith in God and the truth of His Word. No prophet in the Bible lacked some foundation for their authority in transmitting the will of God. False prophets are everywhere. Every prophesy must be tested.

You're wrong.

You once believed Charles Dukes' testimony - "hand on heart. You now say he is a liar; not mistaken, forgetful or deluded; a liar.
That means that you believe he knows full well that he did not go to, or walk on, the moon but that he is deliberately saying that he did.
Apart from the fact that he has no reason to lie and there are people who could correct him and tell the truth - if you say he is lying about that, then he is also lying in what he says about Jesus.

God doesn't want us to believe that a man who talks about his Son, is a liar. It was God who converted Charles, gave him that great testimony and the ability to tell others about him.
I know and it's been hard.
What's been hard?
Calling Christians, liars? Telling God you are sorry that you asked him for help but that you don't need it after all? Sticking to your beliefs even though you have a lot of Christians telling you you are wrong?

If it's mocking/insulting other Christians that has been hard - don't do it.

I find conspiracy theories very interesting, and some are true. Some are half true. The lizard people is a good example. There are evil people with “lizard brains” with evil intent, but they are not actually reptiles. Addictions to these theories is strange.

  • Compare with scripture: Check if the prophecy aligns with existing religious texts, which are considered the highest authority.
  • Evaluate the outcome: See if any future predictions made in the prophecy actually come to pass.
  • Assess moral and spiritual alignment: Ensure the prophecy promotes good, encourages obedience to God, and does not promote evil or sinful desires.
  • Consider the source: Be wary of individuals who seem to be motivated by greed or personal gain.
  • Discern the spirit: Evaluate whether the message is helpful and edifying, rather than deceptive or harmful.

You haven't written prophecies.
You don't quote passages of Scripture but random, out of context verses.
  • Evaluate the outcome: See if any future predictions made in the prophecy actually come to pass.
You haven't written any prophecies - only things which you claim are true.
  • Assess moral and spiritual alignment: Ensure the prophecy promotes good, encourages obedience to God, and does not promote evil or sinful desires.
Doesn't apply.
a) the stuff you post isn't prophecy.
b) you don't encourage obedience to God.
c) I don't know about promoting sinful desires, but calling a born again Christian a liar, isn't good.
  • Consider the source: Be wary of individuals who seem to be motivated by greed or personal gain.
Well most of your sources are YouTube, and the people who post get rewards of some kind - either monetary rewards, or "likes".
Dean Odel would lose money and credibility if he admitted that the Antarctica experiment was real, so it's in his interests to deny it and bad mouth those who went.
  • Discern the spirit: Evaluate whether the message is helpful and edifying, rather than deceptive or harmful.
Nothing that you, Odel, Skiba and other Flat Earthers post is edifying - not when you accuse us of not believing Genesis and/or being liars.

So FAIL then.

When have I ever called you a liar ?
When I said that I accept a globe earth and believe Genesis 1, and you replied, "you can't do."
When I made some comments once and your reply was, something to the effect of, "you don't believe Scripture", "your motives are .....".

If I say that Charles Duke walked on the moon and then he became a Christian, and you claim that Charles is a liar; by implication, I am lying too.
Either I'm lying when I repeat that he walked on the moon or - at best - I'm just a gullible person who repeats everything that she hears.
And if that was the case, my reply to you would be "pot ..... kettle".

Again, you have chosen to select one one phrase of my reply to you. What about the rest of it?
