  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“Donald Trump is going to be gone in a couple of years,” he said. “And if you’re part of the military that is going after sitting senators, sitting members of Congress, and part of the weaponization of government, there will be consequences, without a doubt.”

Do you support investigating Senators and Members of Congress for things they have said?

Is quoting the UCMJ a crime?

Do our leaders not have a right to express an opinion?

Yes, if they are violating their oath of office by trying to cause confusion and disrupting the chain of command in our military as was done by these dishonorable lawmakers.
Is quoting the UCMJ a crime?
That is a poor description of what actually happened. How disrespectful to our well trained military who actually know what an illegal order is .
Do our leaders not have a right to express an opinion?
That is not what happened here. Defending their sedition by many is as disgusting as their treasonous act.

One of the first things the Army taught me in Boot Camp was the rule of law within the military- namely the UCMJ. The six leaders quoted directly from the UCMJ. This narrative that their comments will "cause confusion" is rubish and insult to our military members.
Who appointed these six to train our brave soldiers on what an illegal order is ? Our soldiers already know what their requirements and responsibilities are. This was a partisan, blatant act of sedition fueled by Trump hatred.

The fact remains they did quote the UCMJ.
Sedition? What a ridiculous assertion.

Then don't. I'm never going to convince you that this President is capable of issuing an illegal order. I trust the someone in the chain of command will honor the oath to their oath the the U.S. Constitition.

They didn't attempt to train any soldiers in what an illegal order is, only that they have a right to refuse it. It was fueled by the real likelyhood that Trump or one of his minions would give an illegal order.

Your defense of this travesty is weak at best. Our soldiers already know that. These seditious six are trying to sow discord in our military because of hatred for Trump. This is indefensible !

Each day this story continues, it becomes a lost cause for President Trump. While 37% of Americans—the MAGA—stand by President Trump regardless, the rest of the country reacts differently. When they hear elected officials telling the military to follow the Constitution and refuse unconstitutional orders, and then hear that the President and his party want to put an end to such statements, many Americans question, "Aren't we supposed to tell the military to obey the Constitution?"

If I advised the DNC, I'd recommend each lawmaker make a similar video and keep the topic going for another week.

Despite no political gain, the Trump administration keeps fighting this.

Reminding people to follow the law is sedition?

How far we've sunk in 2025.

By quoting the rules that apply to them. You in fact agree here that this is true, they "already know that". And that's supposedly seditious. Only thing indefensible is this statement.

There is no need to “ tell the military to obey the Constitution” , they have already taken an oath to do so. Feeling the need to remind them is disrespectful to our soldiers who already know their duties. They have no need of ill motives lawmakers and Trump haters to remind them.
If I advised the DNC, I'd recommend each lawmaker make a similar video and keep the topic going for another week.

The only thing the Trump administration is fighting is misinformation and past unchallenged illegal activities by traitorous political partisans.

I don't think an understanding of his positions limits and what kind of things constitute illegal orders is a high bar to set, if even a one. Just feels like you don't expect anything of him.
I said: "crafting Executive Branch documentation."

In my military staff work, it was a big part of my job to do the actual writing of operations orders and other directives that would signed by my colonel or general...because I was the one who knew the details of what had to be accomplished.

That is the way the system works. The boss says broadly, "Get this done," someone with the detailed knowledge of how it should be done writes the order with all the necessary details, and the boss signs it.

I am so disgusted by the words and actions of these traitorous and disloyal lawmakers who have disrespected the duly elected Commander in Chief with their disloyal and un-American speech that I propose we take it a step forward and have tribunals and investigations on any sitting or retired member of Congress who has ever said anything about a duly elected President that could confuse our brave troops and encourage them to disobey orders.

As I mentioned, 37% of Americans think one way while the rest have a different perspective. If reminding the military or anyone else to uphold the Constitution is considered an insult, then it would be impossible in a civilized society to encourage anyone to do the right thing.

I've also stated that this story offers no advantage for the administration. However, keeping this story in the spotlight for the American public, especially alongside concerns like unaffordable Thanksgiving dinners, will likely resonate strongly with people.
