  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

May securing safe one's body be synonymous with losing one's soul ?

From Pilate that washed his hands to Simon's denial, and even through Simon of Cyrene that bore the cross intermitently, please, do you think they all kind of lost their souls, while Jesus was busy saving them (their souls) on the cross? If yes, and in a likewise and general manner, is it possible people loose something of their souls when attempting to secure their body's safety, as they deal with Truth in also washing hands, denying, etc.. ?
In short, is there any other way to keep souls safe but to uphold thruth, whatsoever happens ?

is it possible people loose something of their souls when attempting to secure their body's safety,
Jesus says, "He who loves his life will lose it," in John 12:25.

And Jesus says not to worry about tomorrow, what we will wear and eat.

And Jesus does say >

"if you love those who love you, what reward have you?" (in Matthew 5:46)

So, yes . . . if ones mainly are concerned about their bodies and about ones who give them what they want . . . this can have them missing out on God's love in their souls. Because they are mainly concerned about their own lives and bodies and pleasures; and this keeps them from living in God's all-loving love which keeps our souls with God and is changing us into the image of Jesus so we are ready to spend eternity with Jesus and one another.
