  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll bet the flerf who came up with this meme thought he was being sooo clever, while in reality it is just stupid.

No more stupider than a spinning globe.

But curvature IS a fact. A well attested fact in fact.

You cannot explain this sequence of photos, at the Strait of Magellan in Chile, with a flat Earth. It's impossible.

You can clearly see the ship is vanishing because of limited optics. It’s not making a drop.

No it's not vanishing because of 'limited optics', nor is it actually dropping, you've got that sequence backwards. It's coming up and over the horizon, towards the viewer.

What a spinning globe ? I quite agree.

No, flat Earth is infinitely more stupid. I thought I was clear on that but I guess I wasn't.

Also, no-one has still explained why at 70 miles on an earth that is supposed to be flat, I cannot see the Isle of Man with the naked eye from the North Wales coast. You least of all.

You can see the quality is getting better as it gets more into view. Get better optics and you will see the full ship again.

Newsflash: you live on that spinning globe, and nothing you can say will change that fact.

It’s not spinning. Mickelsen Morley experiment proved that.

Notice how in the photoset, the only parts of the boat that are 'out of focus' is the bottom part of the ship, while as it gets closer, the 'focus' gets better from the top down.

That's not a question of 'better optics', that's called a haze. If it was just a question of 'better optics', the entirety of the ship would be in focus or out of focus the whole time, not partially throughout.

It’s not spinning. Mickelsen Morley experiment proved that.

You mean Michelson-Morley experiment, which was an experiment to test for aether, its substance and properties and showing that they didn't exist and was not an experiment to simply show that the Earth spun?

Despite the fact that in, in its simplest form, the mathematics of ballistics for guns and artillery requires the knowledge of the fact that the Earth spins to make sure that shots land on target at far distances?

It’s because the water in front it takes place of the limited optics. Find a better video where they use a stronger zoom.

It measured the movement of the earth.

Artillery uses test shots. Snipers I think are full of [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse].

It rotates on its axis and moves around the sun.
"Spinning" is Apple Sky's word.

That first comment doesn't even make sense. What do you mean "Because the water in front takes place of the limited optics"? That's just insipid.

And I don't need to since I live in a coastal region near several ports and have seen ships and I know how the horizon works.
