Funnily enough I drove down that 90 mile road two weeks ago. Here's a piccie I took with my drone (video won't upload):

It's a straight road. No bends or curves. The higher the drone went, the further I could see. Funny that. And if I get the drone to look out to sea at around 1,000m up (well away from civilisation where there may be restrictions) then you can see ships in the distance. But as the drone drops they dissapear over the horizon.

Why do you think that happens?

Oh, another thing. I've now driven across the continent north to south and east to west. The difference in distance is a few hundred kms. Your flat maps show Australia about 5x as wide in width compared to height.

Your flat earth map is very wrong indeed.

I hope you will not think that just because other posters here disagree with your belief about the shape of the earth, they must be unloving towards you. I am sure (because she has said so) that Apple Sky considers me as a Christian friend, as I do her, even though she and I don't agree on such things as the shape of the earth, whether the moon landings took place, the nature of Antarctica, and so on. I hope you will reconsider your decision to leave Christin Forums.

Because it's shifting the goalposts. At flat elevation, with my own eyes, on a flat earth, I should have no problem at all seeing the Isle of Man. I do not.

Ergo, through simple use of logic, the flat earth models is incorrect and impossible.

.....and besides, looking through the most powerful telescope in the world will only bring back into view things that are not beyond the horizon, not things like a ship that has travelled beyond the horizon, a country that is beyond the horizon, or the sun that has set beyond the horizon. I have told Apple sky many times that I cannot see France, even through binoculars, from my window which looks out from the South Devon Coast over the English Channel. Why not, if the earth is, as she claims, a flat disc?

But you cannot see Devon by looking from Wales over the Irish Sea. South Wales is separated from North Devon and North Somerset by the Bristol Channel, not by the Irish Sea.

@prodromos was right in it being 40 miles across, but that is from West Super Mare to Cardiff but I don't live in Cardiff I live on Carmarthen Bay & on a clear day I can see North Devon & Tenby.

But as I have said, perspective makes things look smaller and smaller, the further they are from the observer, so are you claiming that Cornwall is so small, and/or so far from where you live, that perspective cause it to be invisible?

Not at all. Once again: the elevation for the Isle of Man is 48 metres above sea level. My area of North Wales is at sea level, so by any logic, I should easily see such a taller object at 70 miles out to sea with no change in my own perspective on a flat earth, due to the fact that the object I'm looking at is significantly taller. But I do not see it and cannot see it with the naked eye.

I've often asked how the matter of a flat earth vs a round earth really matters in the grand scheme of accepting Jesus as a person's personal saviour and the salvation of the soul, and it often boils down to the very blase thinking of "But if this part of the Bible is incorrect, then what if it's all incorrect?!"

Which... you know, is a thing that's been happening in Christianity since it's very foundation as a unified religion in Rome all those centuries ago so... it's weird.
