  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

NASA is not a word in English. It stands for

In fact, if you use the "a" in "and" it becomes NAASA
The Hebrew word for "deceive" existed long before NASA was even thought of - even long before America existed.

Oh dear; are you someone else who believes it is all a conspiracy and "they" are out to deceive us?
No doubt the people who started NASA thought, "hey, all our meticulous scientific work is all a big con; let's use the Hebrew word for 'deceive' to describe ourselves".
Strong in Him seems like a rather bold name for such a fragile person.

Let me guess, you put your faith in Big Pharma too, all vaxxed up, maxx boosted?

My user name is Strong in HIM. Who do you think the "him" might be, given that this is a Christian forum?
Let me guess, you put your faith in Big Pharma too, all vaxxed up, maxx boosted?
I don't put my FAITH in "Big Pharma". I followed the NHS advice to have Covid jabs.
Given my voluntary work in a hospital, I probably wouldn't have been allowed in without them.

Is your attempt to change the subject, throw insults and cast aspersions due to the fact that I have shown you to be incorrect re your silly word games?

I have not disparaged anyone's views.
Your first post in this thread was to disparage the heliocentric model and imply those who accept it as being deceived.
Neither have I been rude or insulting.
It is rude and insulting to jump into the middle of a thread and make claims that have already been dealt with in the same thread.
You seem to think its fine to insult people and call them names when they disagree with you, and then get all excited when they respond in a similar fashion.
Where have I insulted you or called you names?
I don't think you are deceived, I'm certain of it.
So why can't you respond to any of the points I've raised?
And you are just as certain that I am deluded and in danger losing my salvation, which is a bridge too far for me.
Making false claims is not of the Holy Spirit. Draw your own conclusions.
We can be polite, we can agree to disagree. Or you can continue being hostile and be ignored.
You can try and respond to points I've raised regarding your false claims,
A very wise man once said, "always assume the person you are talking to knows something you don't, it makes for much better conversation, and you just might learn something"
So what have you assumed about me?
This seems to be an almost existential issue for you, you should maybe meditate on that a bit.
Truth is existential. I always find people making baseless claims to be annoying.

I was honest enough to post the transliteration and the pronunciation. Nice job omitting the evidence that supported my claim.

That's not very truthful.
And laughably ironic.
I posted the pronunciation back here. A transliteration of a word is not the word itself, and in this case doesn't reflect the phonetic spelling or pronunciation of the Hebrew word. There wasn't any evidence to omit.
If I was to say the Greek word for "lentils" out loud in polite company, people would think I was swearing, but the Greek word and what people might assume was the English word, are completely unrelated.

No matter how far above the earth a person goes, the horizon always rises to eye level. This would not be so if the earth were a ball. Another observation.

I was being sarcastic @Warden_of_the_Storm posted about 18/20 laughing emoji's yesterday which got me very annoyed, what better way is there to make him think is was doing me a favor.
But we didn't know that.
It came across as someone who was only happy that their score/ratings had been improved. This was what you said of some of us in another thread - that we were only posting for "likes".

So who's mocking now ?
That would be me. I tend to do that to people who jump into threads making claim after claim, then don't respond with any kind of evidence when their claims are challenged.

You see all those stars, little dots of light in the night sky? This is how the sun should appear in the flat earth model at night, as a little dot of light, too far away to light up the sky but still visible to the naked eye. On the flat earth model the sun would always be visible 24 hours a day from anywhere on the earth, even in the middle of the night.
If someone stands on a hill outside of town at night and shines a torch back at you, you will see the torch light but the torch will not light up your living room.

Sir, I have not failed. Because I wasn't trying to convince you of anything to begin with. I presented for your observation, an alternative view. Do with it what you will.

I have no arguments to make. Why would I argue with anyone about the shape of the earth? Especially when I know already that any such argument would surely be in vain.

Standing water is always level. The molecular structure of water does not allow for it to curve over a ball. That's not an argument, its an observation.

NASA actually means to deceive in Hebrew. Again, not an argument, just an observation.

No matter how far above the earth a person goes, the horizon always rises to eye level. This would not be so if the earth were a ball. Another observation.

Satan is a liar, and the whole world, with the exception of a few faithful believers, are completely under his control. Now that's an argument. And it cannot be refuted.

Believe what you will. Search the scriptures. Draw your own conclusions. Or trust what you have always been told. It matters not to me one iota. Neither will it even slightly diminish the love I have for you in Christ.

Be well. Be blessed. Be at peace.
You do realize that thousands of airplanes a day travel around all areas of the globe, right? You do realize that if you are in one of these thousands of planes that fly every day cruising at 35,000 feet that you can clearly see the curvature of the earth, right? Have you ever been on a plane?

Heck, let’s have some fun. Go to a pier and watch ships disappear in the horizon. What do you see? You see the bottom of the ship disappear first and then progressively disappear from bottom to top until the top of the ship disappears. Do you know why that is? Because of the curvature of a spherical earth.

The fact that the earth is a sphere is not up for debate since it has been fully proven. Any other argument going against a fully proven fact is just absurd.

God created a spherical earth that spins on its axis every 24 hours and goes around the sun every 365 days. God created every other planet in our solar system and beyond to also be a sphere. The sun and the moon are spheres. Therefore the earth is a sphere.

He's run away to find his own little echo chamber where no one will challenge his beliefs. I don't expect we will see him again in any of these threads in the near future.

I'm out gentlemen.
That's a shame. I was hoping you could tell me why the moon appears upside down in Sydney compared to how it appears in Oregon.
