  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

All the government employees who has lost their jobs, programs to help citizens of the US dismantled or lessened in efforts. Supposedly to decrease government spending! What is this totally unnecessary spending, wait that's all Trump does spend taxpayers money on things that interest him, into the billions, before he leaves office probably a trillion.

The Saudi Prince is of interest to Trump, how many buildings does Trump have in Saudi Arabia? New deals pending!

Yup

Perhaps you think that Trump should have taken Biden's moral high ground and given up on peace in the Middle East, as Biden did.
============
Let's be very, very clear.

In both terms, Trump is doing more to bringing us closer to peace in the Middle East than anyone since Jimmy Carter.

FIRST TERM
The Abraham Accords were a huge, huge move forward. Arab countries were finally accepting Israel's right to exist as a country. Also, as a side discussion the Arabs and Israel agreed that the enemy was Iran and the terrorists that they financed throughout the region. Trump made the Arabs and Israel see common cause. Trump also had them understand the business benefits from having peace between Israel and the Sunni Arabs.

IN BETWEEN
crickets from Biden
Hamas started a war
crickets from Biden

SECOND TERM
Trump again made peace in the Middle East his #1 priority. Trump supported all of Israel's efforts to remove the terrorist threats in the region and their efforts to greatly disable Iran. Trump then got the Arabs to look the other way as Israel continued to be aggressive in killing Arab terrorists and also so many Palestinian citizens in Gaza.

Trump finally bombed Iran! He then got Israel to agree to a peace deal and to implement the first steps.
Hooray! Trump bombed Iran!

So peaceful.

Would you truly have preferred that Trump did nothing to try to stop the current wars in the Middle East?

CHOOSE
Middle East under Biden
Middle East under Trump

I understand that some are isolationists and would have welcomed Iran having nuclear weapons instead of giving warning and bombing those weapons.

Many also refuse to support giving missiles to Ukraine so that can bomb the sites daily sending death into their country.
=============
We can choose to ignore that world and allow countries to continue bombing each other with no US intervention or mediation. Or we can try to stop some of the carnage.
=========
BTW, I understand pacifists but not isolationists. I would note that pacifism is a path for individuals, not for large nation states.

I will admit that the middle east is looking a bit better than usual, if you put a screen in front of the piles of corpses the israeli army is still creating during the current "cease fire".

But I don't think this moves the needle enough to make up for Trump's failures in other regards.

Of course not.

Trump has a well-deserved worst approval rating ever.
