  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I never said otherwise. Quit projecting. I’m bringing up Church teaching because you keep insinuating it’s a nonissue because Jesus never specifically spoke of the issue of homosexuality.
The Church teaching is that it's a sin to do, but that unjust discrimination against homosexuals is forbidden. Which is what I think. Seems right to me.

My point is that Jesus was specifically emphatic about other sins. Bottom line is that He nowhere suggested that government should be involved in suppressing sin. God neither needs nor wants a government handout.

It's been used by bourgeois perverts with upper-class vices to oppress proletariot cake-bakers and florists.
The courts quite sensibly decided that was not acceptable, just as people forcing their standards on homosexuals is unacceptable.

They're still using it to terrorize small working-class businesses. I think that baker out in Colorado was on like his third case the last I heard.

This issue has destroyed western society more than the civil war and should be nixed. Back into the closet.

Precedent says a private business is not required to approve of anyone's lifestyle.

Not likely...

Over two-thirds of Americans think same-sex marriages should be legal. Americans don't like the government telling them what to do.
