  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since July 1, Trump has referred to the U.S. having "no inflation" 11 times at eight events -- the facts show different

Treasury Dept. says inflation is running 'above target' as Trump insists there is 'no inflation'

The Treasury Department said Monday that inflation "remained above the target of 2 percent in the third quarter," even as President Donald Trump and administration officials continue to assert that there is "no inflation."

Speaking on CBS News' "60 Minutes" on Sunday, Trump said, "We have no inflation, we have no inflation."

Is it news that Trump lies whenever he talks about numbers, including the level of inflation?

It's important to continue to hold him to account for his failed campaign promises and more generally for the failure of MAGAnomics.

Well, since he shut down the department that reports songs of these numbers, maybe he's got plausible deniability?

Out of all of the White House's press releases, I have cherry-picked this one:

It's hard to reconcile 2% inflation with consumer prices dropping.

I'm not a mathologist, but a 2% rise would be inflation, prices going down would be deflation and 0 movement either way would be stagnation. SS COLA will be 2.8% for 2026, but Medicare increases are likely to exceed 2.8%, according to forecasters.
