  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hundreds of Korean engineers who were arrested and detained during an immigration raid at a Hyundai-LG Energy Solution battery plant in Georgia in September are preparing to sue U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), alleging unlawful detention and mistreatment.

According to industry sources and a report by ABC News earlier this week, roughly 200 of those detained in the weeklong ordeal are preparing to file a lawsuit against ICE, alleging racial discrimination, human rights violations and excessive use of force during their arrests and detention. They are seeking compensation for damages.
“To this day, we still don’t know why we were detained like that. There has been no apology or explanation from the authorities,” said Kim, one of the detained workers who spoke to ABC News on condition of anonymity. He added that this was one of the main reasons he decided to join the lawsuit.
The article doesn't say where they are filing the lawsuit, but I'd assume South Korea? Will have to see if other articles clarify this.

Well, let's see the evidence! Show some serious proof of "human rights violations". If they actually did do something, then anyone involved should be held accountable, but I doubt anything will happen.

Edit: I read into some of their arguments like moldy mattresses and if that's the case, then it needs to be looked into. But being arrested and being detained are two different things. If you're arrested and they see you're here legally and can work, they let you go. If you're detained, that means something is wrong. It seems like the people who are saying their conditions were poor, are the people who have been detained. Easy way to find this out is to do an inspection of the detention center.

Well, let's see the evidence! And it better not be like, "they were mean!" kind of arguments. Show some serious proof of "human rights violations". Because to me, these claims have lost all meaning when the left use them on the regular and its because they didn't get a frapa-late from starbucks or something... If they actually did do something, then anyone involved should be held accountable, but I doubt anything will happen.
ICE basically took them in, for no reason. They had permission to be here . If I was arrested and detained for no reason. I would talk to a lawyer.

"Some that illegally crossed the border into the United States, some that came in through visa waiver and were prohibited from working, some that had visas and overstayed their visas." link

Out of the 330 people detained, 316 South Koreans have been deported, the rest were Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian. link

Sounds like illegals and people who broke the law to me. If you break your visa agreement, the US has the right to deport you.
