  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump administration must pay food aid benefits within days, judge says

then....

Trump signals he'll fund SNAP after federal judges ruled the administration must keep sending out benefits despite the shutdown

I am happy to hear this is one court order the Trump admin will not just ignore.
So much for the notion that he thinks he's a king.

He hasn't provided benefits yet, but what he has done is ignore judges rulings in the past.

Good for Trump for doing the right thing.....once a judge demanded him to do it.

That's the kind of leadership I like!

The kind where the leader refuses to do the right thing until someone else tells him to because he has no moral compass!

It's not the job of the President of the United States to provide benefits. It's the job of the Congress to vote and pass bills so the president can sign them. The Republicans in the Senate have done their job repeatedly, while the Democrats in the Senate continue to stand in the way which is why the government remains shut down.
If only the democrats in the Senate would vote for the government to be open again, benefits will once again flow to their constituents. Until then, we wait, and wait....

Congress already passed the bill.
It was signed into law.
The money is already there.
The president's job is to "execute the law"
And in this case to execute providing those congressional emergency funds to snap participants.
Why a judge has to basically force him to do his job tells you what kind person he is.
But again, unlike times before let's hope he doesn't choose to ignore this judge.

I mean holy moly.

Again, if the GOP has a plan other than killing coverage, increasing costs, and closing hospitals let's here it.
The new Trumpcare plan is simple. Simply tweet your medical needs, and Secretary RFK Jr. , Dr. Oz, and the White House will get right on it!

Trump admin responds to 'Dilbert' creator's plea to 'help save my life' by expediting cancer treatment

HHS Secretary RFK Jr and White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino offered to help after Scott Adams' viral post

"I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday. That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer. It is not a cure, but it does give good results to many people."

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. responded to Adams’ viral post, asking how to reach him.

"The President wants to help," RFK Jr. wrote.

Dan Scavino, White House deputy chief of staff and head of personnel, also responded to Adams, saying, "No need till [sic] wait until Monday—@realDonaldTrump, @RobertKennedyJr, and @DrOz are all tracking now, Scott."

[Adams deserves all the luck and care he can get.]

Voters say President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are more to blame for the ongoing government shutdown, according to a new NBC News poll.
Of course, they are just echoing what the MSM is feeding them, which is what the DNC tells them to say.
Logic tells us and it is true that the senators voting no on the CR caused the shutdown. Democrats voted no. Republicans voted yes.
Every vote against the CR (by Democrats) keeps the government closed another day.

Like your fellow Republicans, you can’t see beyond your own narrative.

Like your fellow Republicans, you can’t see beyond your own narrative.
It is not a narrative... these are basic, undeniable facts.
Fact: A vote against the CR is a vote to shut down the government.
Fact... A vote for the CR opens up the government.
Fact... Democrats voted no on the CR.
Fact... Republicans voted yes on the CR.
Fact... The MSM is so biased in favor of the DNC that they are virtually indistinguishable.
Fact... Trump is currently trying to locate funds to fund SNAP benefits that the Democrats took away.
Which of these facts is false???

If democrat voters want their dying party to survive at all, they should be writing letters to their ploticians to sign the CR.
You believe that Democrats will save the Democratic party by aiding the Republican party in eliminating health care subsidies for those who need them?

I'm not sure you're the best qualified to determine what the Democratic party needs.

-- A2SG, but we will take your suggestion under advisement....

By dragging out the longest shutdown in history they're digging their party into an even deeper deep hole.

A lot of democrats disagree. Some feel that keeping health care subsidies is worth the fight, and are glad to see the Democratic Party standing up for Americans who need affordable health care instead of caving in to the Republican plan to end them.

-- A2SG, as to how that affects the future of the party, that, of course, remains to be seen....

Healthcare subsidies is what they're putting in the forefront, but there's considerably more they want out of the one thousand five hundred billion dollars they're demanding.

Care to document these additional demands for me?

-- A2SG, or should I just take your word for it, or Donald Trump's?
