  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The auto-pen scandal is going to be massive

Is this you indicating that you can identify "Biden" as a "human"?

Because I can't say I'm all THAT impressed by that.
I can tell when there's something wrong with my dog and he needs to go to the vet just like I can recognize signs of cognitive decline without being a doctor

OK.
But you can't confidently say what level of disorder or disruption it is causing in their functioning.
I am totally comfortable saying there was cognitive decline in Biden...just not certain that it was significant enough for doctors to be SIGNIFICANTLY concerned about it.

Do you see cognitive decline in Trump?

Regardless, perhaps this is something for us both to consider...with some dose of humility.

Yes, but not anywhere near the level in Biden
Fair enough.

But should I believe that you have been exposed to equal amount of examples of Biden or Trump slipping based on the sources where you get your news?

Because I see at LEAST daily examples on my sources that make me question Trump. I'd wager there were places where the same thing was happenning with Biden in the rightosphere too.

I didn't say Biden had dementia, that requires a diagnosis. I just said he had cognitive decline.
It comes with age and in some more than others

Do you think it's possible your news sources may have skewed your perception of Biden or Trump's cognitive decline?

Yes, the mainstream media absolutely covered up Biden's cognitive decline until the debate when they were faced with losing all credibility

Zhao, 48, a Chinese-born Canadian who is one of the world’s richest people, served four months in prison after his 2023 conviction and was released from prison in September 2024.

Why did he need a pardon?
The question right now is who signs the pardons. Last time I checked, the President does. So the next question is, why did the President sign a pardon for someone he knows nothing about, and claims to know nothing about the situation.

Who made him sign that pardon, or....or.....*dun dun dun* WHO SIGNED IT FOR HIM? SCANDALOUS! Must be those machines!

Does anyone buy this? No? I didn't think so.

Unlike some politically related pardon that his staff might slip through the autopen, Zhao is a business partner of the president.

If we were talking about some Capitol riot nobody like Emily Hernandez* (whom he did pardon on day 1 with the rest of them), I could buy that. But not this. It goes in to the "Trump to reality translator" as:

Trump says: "I have no idea what X is."
Trump means: "I know exactly what X is and I do not want to talk about it."

*Why did I pick a random Jan6er like Emily Hernandez, a college student who went to the riot from St. Louis with her uncle and his friend and was photographed holding a scrap of the broken "Nancy Pelosi, Speaker" sign outside the Speaker's office? Does she deserve this extra "notoriety? Well... while awaiting her sentencing after conviction, she got drunk and drove the wrong way up a freeway exit ramp in St. Louis into a family. The mother was killed. I assume she is in a Missouri prison right now. I see no reason why Trump would know her and I wanted to pick someone who was a nobody at the riot, but gained notoriety for post-riot activities.

How a Billionaire Felon Boosted Trump’s Crypto Company en Route to a Pardon

Binance facilitated $2 billion purchase of World Liberty’s stablecoin and built its technology; clemency for Changpeng Zhao surprised some in administration

ABU DHABI—Changpeng Zhao, crypto’s richest man, flew home from a California jail a year ago to recuperate in a secluded neighborhood of $30 million villas on a white-sand island here. He worked on his kite-surfing, caught up with friends in beachside clubs and kept his 100-foot yacht, Da Moon, moored nearby.

Despite his freedom, all wasn’t well. Binance, Zhao’s crypto exchange—owned by a felon and shackled by U.S. authorities—was struggling. Its new overseers were turning the screws to eliminate the practices that had made it a giant money-laundering mill. Binance’s top legal staff were certain the company was doomed.

Around the time of the election, Zhao’s representatives began discussions with allies of Trump, saying they wanted to find a solution to Binance’s legal troubles in the U.S. and offering a deal with a Trump family business, according to people familiar with the discussions.
