The White House is listed as a historic landmark. Below are the guidelines that Trump should be following:I did some Google Earth satellite viewing of the White House today. And what I noticed is the huge Treasury building right next to the East Wing building. And the even larger multi story Eisenhower building right next to the West Wing. Both of which signicantly dwarf the White House.
So being right next to the really big Treasury building, the ballroom isn't all that big in comparison to it. And the East Wing was an annex connected via a long corridor to the actual White House. An additional basically separate structure. That was considerably newer than the actual White House.
This is one of the better typos I've seen recently.
"New additions, exterior alterations, or related new construction shall not destroy historic materials that characterize the property. The new work shall be differentiated from the old and shall be compatible with the massing, size, scale, and architectural features to protect the historic integrity of the property and its environment."
It wouldn't surprise me at all if some of them were moved to Mar-a-Lago.Did they remove the Melania floor lamp before the wrecking ball?
But seriously, I wonder what steps, if any, they took to remove and preserve historic artifacts in the East Wing?
They could fly to Vegas and get married by Elvis. Elvis is fancier than a faux minister.Because it gives you the ability to officiate weddings for your friends/family members if they're not religious, but still want to have a wedding that's fancier than standing in city hall with a justice of the peace.
That may be a thing that can be done in Nevada... (who knows, the guys in Elvis outfits may be getting their authority to officiate from a faux minister's license as well)They could fly to Vegas and get married by Elvis. Elvis is fancier than a faux minister.
That last one, superintendent of the state school for the deaf. That may be a thing that can be done in Nevada... (who knows, the guys in Elvis outfits may be getting their authority to officiate from a faux minister's license as well)
But here in Ohio in order to officiate:

So, if someone wants to have a regular'ish wedding here and would like it to be officiated by someone they know (but are perhaps non-religious), getting a minister's certificate is a lot easier than me going to law school or getting elected Mayor lol.
Sounds a little fishy, a bit too specific. Sounds like something got done ad hoc after-the-fact. Way to go to completely avoid the point being made!
If I had to venture a guess, it would likely have something to do with the fact that two deaf people getting married would probably like to have that done by an officiant who is fluent in sign language, and when the laws were crafted, there probably wasn't a huge overlap between Mayors/Judges/Ministers and people who were fluent in ASL.That last one, superintendent of the state school for the deaf.Sounds a little fishy, a bit too specific. knocking down the East Wing.
The east wing has been demolished; it's gone, and it's not coming back. It's not being permanently knocked down. Your rhetoric can use some improvement
Does Doug Burgum have any complaints? The White House is listed as a historic landmark. Below are the guidelines that Trump should be following:
Size, scale, and massing of the new addition
The size, scale, and massing of a new addition all pertain to the addition’s overall volume and three-dimensional qualities. Taken together, size, scale and massing are critical elements for ensuring that a new addition is subordinate to the historic building, thus preserving the historic character of a historic property. Typically, a compatible addition should be smaller than the historic building in both height and footprint. However, there are other considerations that may allow moving away from this basic concept.
Depending on its location, it may be possible that an addition slightly taller or slightly larger than the historic building may be acceptable, as long as it is visually subordinate to the historic building. In some cases, separating the addition from the historic building with a small hyphen can reduce the impact of an addition that is larger than the historic building. Another way of minimizing the impact of a new addition to an historic building is to offset it or step it back from the mass of the historic building.

Of course not, he's one of Trump's lackeys.Does Doug Burgum have any complaints?
The east wing has been demolished; it's gone, and it's not coming back.
So the answer is yes, the president can demolish whatever he wants, he only needs approval to build.
Gosh, that shed 60 years off me. I remember it coming out!
