  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A state by state analysis--he's even underwater in Texas, along with all the swing states, and barely hanging on in Florida. Was it the "dump" on NYC Saturday that made people realize "Hey, we--the 99%--are the ones being dumped on?"

And actually woke has a positive definition in Merriam Webster, while noting that the word has been maligned by detractors.

7 million took to the streets Saturday. This awakening is making me happy.
”Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Name something the protest accomplished?
What does any protest accomplish, really? Other than letting voices be heard.

Look at it this way: what did the January 6 protest accomplish? The election results didn't change, it was still certified, and other than many of the protesters being arrested and charged with various crimes (which have since been pardoned), what did it accomplish?

-- A2SG, well, Nancy Pelosi did have to replace a laptop, so....

What was in it for him?

Last I checked, the United States was not a monarchy. The examples you have mentioned had actual issues that people wanted their voices to be heard. The no kings protest was just a bunch of elderly white liberals shrieking about their hatred for Trump. Again, it was a massive group anger management therapy session for liberals, and an opportunity for antifa to cause more political violence.

How much violence did antifa cause because of that opportunity?

Does it matter to the point? Trump is neither a monarch, or a fascist dictator. So the protest was nothing but group therapy and political theater orchestrated by democrats.

He's trying to institute authoritarian presidential rule. That's what the protest was about. Fortunately, he's not very good at it.

No, it isn't. I don't believe the "No kings" rallies mean that literally. They are protests against a growing threat toward authoritarianism many see with Donald Trump.

Pretending it's meant to be literal is deliberately missing the point, I'd say.

Same for the no kings rally. Just because you disagree doesn't mean the protesters don't want their voices heard, too.

I don't recall hearing about any such violence. Did I miss something?

-- A2SG, surely it would have been in the news somewhere....

There is little evidence (to be generous) for your beliefs. What makes you think the Americans who are firmly grounded in reality need therapy?

So it is melodramatic group therapy against an imaginary threat. In other words, it is more democrat political kabuki theater.

Oh. For years, we have ALL heard the screeching and gnashing of teeth as if we were watching a sea of spoiled children who were never told "no" in their entire lives. This was just another childish outburst and people watched with disgust just as if they had seen a child throwing store merchandise at his mother because she refused to buy him a bar of chocolate.

He's not good at it because most of the courts have been pushing back. Stay strong.

He is not good at it because he is not trying to be it. It is absolutely impossible to take anything you say seriously. The "No Kings Rally" is exactly what you need.

Idk what people you are speaking for here. Maybe it’s just you that was disgusted by seeing millions of people peacefully march in the streets against your favorite president?

Maybe if they instead had broke into the capitol and smeared their feces on the walls while fighting with police you’d feel more comfortable? Seems to be more your type of protest.

Yes he is.

You just believe he’s not because accepting otherwise would mean the democrats were right all along. Much easier to go along while this administration has someone else in its sights.
