  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

President Donald Trump is pressing for his Justice Department to pay roughly $230 million as a settlement for investigations he faced during the Biden administration and his first term in office, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to ABC News Tuesday.
The extraordinary arrangement, as first reported by The New York Times, would likely first need sign-off from top officials in the department who previously served as Trump's defense attorneys or otherwise represented his allies.
The settlement negotiations stem from two separate administrative claims that were submitted by attorneys for Trump while he was out of office in 2023 and 2024. One sought damages over the investigation he and those in his orbit faced surrounding ties his 2016 campaign had to the Russian government.

Let that marinate.
All it takes is the sign off from current department heads who used to be his personal lawyers.
One has to wonder if they are still on retainer.

No, he wants US, the American taxpayers to pay him 230 mil. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the cost of the damage being done to the WH for his ballroom is 250 mil.

Well, well, well, Donald Trump signing off on his own settlement paid by you and me. And the charity? His vanity ballroom. Not a coincidence. Let us reason, please!
When will Maga stop and think what is really going on here. MTG is starting to make a turn in the other direction.

On a side note:
I had a dream that she repented in front of Congress, apologized for all her hurtful actions against others and renounced her GOP affiliation. Only a dream.....for now. :prayer:

Blessings

And they claim he's not a genius.

There are silos of pure genius. IMO, he is an absolute imbecile when it comes to some things, but manipulating people? Identifying and amplifying peoples grievances and telling them what they want to hear or giving them someone to blame? Opportunities to grift? Publicly pressuring and threatening people and organizations to get his way? Weaponizing his base against people so that people he is targeting will comply in advance out of fear? He's a mastermind. He can read people, identify desires and weaknesses and manipulate them to his benefit.

Aside from SOME economic policies, he can't provide one detailed answer to any questions about his policies. His response is Oh, I don't know ask so and so or he will ramble on not making sense and jumping all over the place for 10+ minutes. He makes up numbers and can't give accurate facts and figures at all. Anyone who asks a question he doesn't like he will belittle them, attempt to shame them, call them low IQ etc. (The main reason for this, IMO, is because he is rubber stamping other peoples policies, not directing his own. I fear he is also being fed narratives by people with their own agenda, lying to him, but they have his trust and he is acting on their words.)

Shamelessness is his super power. IMO the Trump Doctrine is "Who's gonna stop me?" He's not interested in law and order other than weaponizing it against others. He will bulldoze though with what he wants and by the time anyone is able to stop him by legal means, the damage is already done and difficult if not impossible to reverse. Everything is transactional. He has no sense of pride in our government or history or norms or dedication to our institutions so its easy for him to toss them aside. He's always looking to make a deal. He's slipped up a couple of times and referred to the US as a company instead of a country. His ego is his weakness though. He doesn't forget slights and will seek revenge, even to his own detriment. He is easily deceived by flattery and world leaders KNOW it. They can manipulate him with it and so they don't respect him because of that, among other things.

But yeah, he has moments of genius.

What were his legal expenses? True to form he hasn't paid his lawyers.
Cite proof please or remove the post - we would not to bear false witness.

From MSN:

"But I was damaged very greatly," Trump added. "And any money that I would get, I would give to charity."
Remember: This is a man who lost close to 50% of his personal wealth his first term - and donated his salary each year.

Donald Trump has a long history of not paying people - including his lawyers.

For some perspective, a man with a net worth of $2,000,000,000 donating $400,000 is the equivalent of a man with a net worth of $1,000,000 donating $200. It's pretty insignificant.

He didn't do a great job of it during his first presidency (though COVID takes a lot of the blame there for crashing the commercial real estate market), but he's really been raking it in since starting his campaign for his second term.

He has also stated that he don't need the money and that he would give it to charities.
So it's an excuse to funnel federal money into causes that Trump supports, rather than his own pockets? Somehow, that doesn't make me feel any better about it.

I promise I will not be voting for Trump in the next presidential election.
I'm sure if there was a possibility of Trump's staying president. Trump would talk his supporters into keeping him president.
