  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I didnt aee anything about agents descending from helicopters to arrest brown people. I dont think your videos supported your claim.

It seems to be you might be being too broad. Your statement to arrest brown people makes it seem like they are simy arresting brown people just cause they are brown. Is that your claim?

Maybe you could be more specific. Was the goal to arrest brown people because they were brown or was their goal to arrest tren de aragua gang members? I want to say it was the latter. Am I wrong?

And quite frankly if they have to descend from helicopters to do that, I'm okay with that. Although in this case I don't think they did.
I put a news link in my post for the story of rhe helicopters.
There were children in underwear outside at 3am according to neighbours.

Saw a neigbbour quoting an ice agent mumbling "xxxx those kids".

I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think you could do that job And care about children.

They can't conceptualise that the machine they are building will turn against them.

Here is a little bit of an update on that situation. Seems like the only thing you have to do to get arrested in Portland is be on the wrong side of Antifa.

At the risk of quoting a very sympathetic Fox News account long on stories and short on evidence...

Portland police arrest conservative journalist on disorderly conduct charge along with two others

The arrest came after the Portland Police Bureau said it was "monitoring the protestduring the evening and observed some protest participants engaging in fights." [Nicholas] Sortor was charged with disorderly conduct in the second degree.

Conservative influencer arrested in Portland as protests escalate, city braces for federal troops

[On X] Sortor also said that Attorney General Pam Bondi had ordered an investigation into the circumstances of his arrest and of the Portland Police Bureau.

[Sortor had no comment for AP.]

Federal agents knock down elderly couple during Portland protest

Laurie Eckman, 84, said she and her husband Richard Eckman, also 84 and a Vietnam war veteran, were rushed by federal officers “for no apparent reason.” She said her husband was leaning on his walker and wearing his Vietnam veterans cap as he was pushed to the ground.

“It was totally unprovoked. It was not the kind of crowd that shouts the ‘F word.’ It was people like us, our neighbors. There were families, there were several veterans,” Laurie Eckman told The Oregonian/OregonLive. “With no warning the feds charged into us, knocked us down and sprayed us. I was hit in the head with a projectile.” [Not clear at this point, who or what was responsible for that.]

“People have to know that we are not Antifa,” she said. “We’re just regular Portlanders who love our city, and my husband, being a Vietnam veteran, is incensed that we’re talking about war within our own country. This is outrageous, really.”

“I never thought federal officers could behave this way. I really didn’t,” she said. “I always thought people must be provoking them or something, that they would never do this unprovoked. Obviously, I was wrong.”

I think it's amazing that you guys aren't fleeing the USA.
How will I know if they will arrest people for exercising their Free Speech rights if I don't exercise my Free Speech rights?

Looking forward to the next No Kings event October 18th. Will be wild.

You can't see Los Angeles for all the events. And even Catalina Island.
