I can't believe that between ICE, Boarder Patrol, military, FBI and Homeland Security officers, they could not handle this situation. Rammed? Boxed in? Since when are these individuals so helpless?

Maybe a set up....who knows.

If ICE keeps doing raids on building where they cuff everyone and then decide who they are bringing in, I don't blame the CPD for not showing up.

Treating locals this way is not a good image. If ICE wants CPD help, maybe they should work with them instead of treating them as lower than them.

ICE can't work with them because CPD are under orders from the mayor not to assist federal authorities, I haven't seen anything to suggest the federal authorities have been disrespectful to the local PD.

If reports are true they are abusing their authority, but I also know how people exaggerate and lie about law enforcement actions so I am not so quick to condemn them

You might check out the link you gave in the OP. A photo of the ICE agents shows one masked guy in full military gear with a weapon peering out of the turret of what looks like an armoured vehicle.

Law enforcement? It's a picture that wouldn't look out of place in Gaza.

The article only mentions the Border Patrol and believe it or not there are situations where law enforcement can be overwhelmed and have to call for assistance.
In this case they had to shoot a woman so I hope your post is not an attempt at humor

I'm not concerned about what they wear or the vehicles they use.Almost every search warrant I ever served was in a residential area and more often than not there were children there. They’re going to be criticized no matter how they handle that.
But detaining US citizens for unreasonable amounts of time, seizing property without leaving a receipt and making a mess of everything are abuses of power if true and I’m sure there are lawyers waiting in line to take civil action on behalf of these people.
If they really are as reckless as is being claimed it will catch up with them.
But people tend to lie and exaggerate about these things.
The subject of this thread is a law enforcement agency failing to aid fellow law enforcement officers however and not about ICE abusing their powers.

So, the ends justify the means? Where is this ending? Are we changing any criminal hearts or creating havoc where more and more will not support the police? Perhaps we can be so extreme that civil war is coming? In my opinion the Federal government is overreaching. Using current laws with false pretenses and pushing the envelope. If the Feds would do their homework better they would not be making so many mistakes and causing so much turmoil. That there is an ICE quota makes it hard to do this. It is as Ben Franklin said, trading liberty for security brings neither.
