Hamas says it accepts portion of Trump peace plan for Gaza

Trump's demands said Hamas must release all hostages and have no role in governing Gaza. The plan didn't address the idea of a Palestinian state.

"The Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Oct. 3 it had agreed to release all Israeli hostages, alive or dead, under the terms of President Donald Trump's 20-point plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza and signaled readiness to immediately enter mediated negotiations to discuss the details.

In a statement shared with Reuters, the group also agreed to hand over administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian body with Arab and Muslim backing and said it would be willing to discuss other aspects of Trump's proposal as part of the talks."

One wonders how many of the released hostages will be freshly dead.

I don't think Hamas wants peace. Maybe a cessation of losses so they can regroup and annihilate Israel. Call me cynical. I do pray for peace.
