• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Only thing left for the last remaining saints to do in that place is come out from this sinful apostasy.

[ Standard reminder that this is the STR-Anglican forum. Should I assume that you're a conservative Anglican? ]

It is possible that schism will result from this, since there are Anglicans (especially in the GAFCON-affiliated churches) who feel the way that Mr. Carlton does. There was schism in the American church when we elected a female Presiding Bishop. I hope there isn't, but we'll see. There can be tension between doing what one believes is right and compromising with those who disagree, and there's been a lot of that tension in the Anglican Communion over the last few decades.

I am not so interested in a particular denomination or group but Biblical truths. I am traditional Protestant but have assembled in several Anglican Church’s. But I certainly will not be stepping foot in another one, unless they repent of their wickedness. And I hope others who see their disobedience also leave this apostate church.

May I refer you to this - All posts within this faith community must adhere to the site wide rules found here (Community Rules). In addition, if you are not a member of this faith group, you may not debate issues or teach against it's theology. You may post in fellowship. Active promotion of views contrary to the established teachings of this group will be considered off topic. Fellowship posts can also include statements that are in alignment with beliefs of the given denomination, even by non-members. They cannot include debate or non-beliefs. - because this is the
Scripture,Tradition,Reason-Anglican & Old Catholic forum.

With respect.

Bishop of Ebbsfleet - who leads the complimentarian parishes in the C of E - Statement on new AOC . Posting just in case anyone who is interested comes by here. I am glad he is expressing some respect and saying that he can talk to Sarah Mullally, that just seems better to me than a call to schism would.

Anyone surprised by this?
No. I marked Dame Mullaly as the insider choice since she was elevated to the bishopric of London.

On this side of the pond, every Anglican sedevacantist has popped out of the woodwork to issue a written statement today. None of them were in communion with Canterbury anyway.

If they aren't in communion with Canterbury, why would they care? That's a little petty, imo.
