And when the “protestees” want, they’ll push back against this legal-protesting as if it were a giant afford to public safety…by “sending in the troops!”

The optics of what the US looks like right now...it is NOT a safe looking place. If these troups keep getting put out there, why would ANYONE come to the US? Plenty of countries actually had travel warnings for their people going to the US before...imagine now.

I'm pretty sure they are more interested in simply suggesting that the militarization of American cities should be seen as an utter embarrassment instead of embraced and encouraged.

Arguably, American society was doing pretty good a year ago in terms of the functionality of ALL of it's members.

Seems far more dysfunctional now.

Also, if the government is rewriting and reinterpreting the law, you can't argue there is 'order and stability'. There is a targetted removal.

It is an embarrassment how far the society fell under the policies of the former administration, their lack of support for police and their turning a blind eye to destruction and violence.

The NG isnt there for any violence in entire city of Portland. They are there to protect the ICE facility and agents there. The protestors have been and acted violent toward the facility and agents.

The guard isnt marching around the city. Its a targeted effort at the facility.

The locals who live in the area thats been disrupted are happy the NG is coming. They are tired of the protestors disturbing their peace and causing problems.
