He admitted it in public. He knew (or possibly directed) that Russia was probing personal emails. So weird that some people can't see what is right in front of them.

And, almost miraculously, soon after Wikileaks receives a tranche of emails stolen from the DNC. Not quite Hillary Clinton, but close enough to create confusion when talking about "the emails".
