  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Must've meant next year ... ;)
Or the next year after that! :smirk: There just is no telling!

Mr. Joshua doubles down. He refuses accountabilty. He doesn't want to be interrupted as he speaks. All the earmarks of a clear false prophet. Doesn't want to be judged, etc...

I just can't even... He wants to believe SO bad that he is talking to God, but he clearly isn't when he already had a false prophecy pass. This is exactly what satan does. He gives you something false, twists it to get you to believe the next thing and then when that doesn't happen, and he will keep doing this over and over and over again as long as you keep believing him. I honestly don't even want to watch the whole thing because this is just that bad...

We are in the strong delusions of the last days that even the saints (Christians) will believe the lie that Jesus so clearly warns about. His first warning in Matthew 24 is to not be deceived. Welp! Many are still clamouring for Joshua to be right because September 23rd is really October 7th!

It's a sifting of the wheat and tares at this point. God is finessing who is really discerning correctly.

When Jesus said to be like little children, I doubt he meant to have adult temper tantrums.

I saw a video where a clip of his apology was included.
Hello! I think that's one of the key points where the church in our day is going wrong. The false prophet, because he clearly meets the biblical definition of a false prophet, was given a platform and oxygen to keep talking after he was clearly revealed to be a false prophet. He should be told to sit down and shut up. It's a corporate failing. God Bless :)

I’m afraid he’s at it again and moved the date up to October. I think this is a psyop.

The church has no jurisdiction over social media beyond those they employ. They can’t silence anyone and the attempt would likely lead to the opposite and stir up rancor. It could really go sideways depending on the target. A coalition would form across religious lines in response to the threat. You’ll be hard pressed to garner much support from christian content creators with the majority believing they could be next.

Wait a sec...But I thought Jesus IS God. How can Jesus not know what the Father knows?

That's part of the Mystery of the Incarnation.

God can't die, but Jesus still died. We can't divide Jesus' humanity from His Deity and say "the humanity died", because Jesus is a single undivided Person: He's God the Son. God the Son died on the cross, even though God cannot die.

Well, I never watched his first video, since it set a date. And I'm not giving him the click on his second video either. And I think if people could just restrain themselves from watching date setters, then it's about the best we can do. Just stay away. I understand the lost looking, they can't know better. But we who are blood bought believers should know better. We live in very deceiving times, the breath of fresh air comes in reading the bible.

I don’t watch end times videos or prophecy. My opinion about religious content has always bucked the norm. Even in the heydays of tv and radio. I’ve never believed you can gauge someone’s walk through those mediums. You need to experience them in person. There are things that come out which can be masked or downplayed elsewhere.

The video I saw is from a local person who covered the story out of concern for the people being deceived. He advised believers to avoid it and others like him and keep their eyes on Christ. But as I said elsewhere, most of this is driven by hardship than a want to go to heaven. As problems mount people seek relief or escape. He’s the first of many to come.

Hello! Good to hear from you.

Romans 16:17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

As an other version of the bible says, false teachers should be marked and avoided. Even in it's current chaotic state the church can do a lot not to give crackpots a platform, not to share a platform with liars, not to support them financially by book or music sales and speak out forcefully against them and all who support them. Mark and avoid them.

I don't know if it's a psyop, there's just a perception that Christians are incredibly naive and can be scammed easily. God Bless :)

The pulpit isn’t the lone place to reach believers and that’s part of the problem. The internet has opened the floodgates and removed the barrier of entry that existed with radio and television. Anyone can start a channel and there‘s no way for them to be silenced if they haven’t broken the rules of the platform they’re on.

They can make counter statements of course and do what you’ve suggested. But that won’t stop the money from coming in. If they’re monetized the video earns money. They can post links to services like CashApp for donations and sell products through a website or online store. Not to mention memberships through YouTube, Patreon and paid newsletters. The overhead is significantly less than a church or christian organization. That doesn’t count additional revenue that can be earned through other platforms, affiliate marketing, partnerships and so on.

Keep in mind, the church was late to this medium and didn’t build a coalition of voices. But that was true with blogging too. The bulk of content creators are independent. They’re not speaking for a church or institution or working together. You’ll hear different takes on things that occurs if you follow them or look for that subject.

The church should have been more proactive and supported the development and promotion of christian content creators in multiple niches and mediums. Then you’d have an army of believers influencing the world in numerous areas. But as usual they’re behind the ball and here we are.

Yeah, I'm no longer involving myself in any rapture talk online. I'll be watching, yes, but it's not for us to argue about it. If these people want to really watch for the rapture and try to set dates, they should move themselves to a Christian graveyard because the dead in Christ will rise first.

Hello!

2 Peter 3:3-5 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

I think the nefarious purpose of the false prophets and teachers is to confuse and demoralize people, even and perhaps especially believers. In the passage above it says in the last days scoffers will come pouring scorn on the idea of a coming return, the scoffers reference 'the beginning of creation' so they must be Christians or church folks in some shape or form. Scoffers in the church scoffing the idea of the Lord's return- you don't have to go far to see that, whole denominations teach this rubbish. False prophets being allowed free reign in the church will generate cynicism and scoffing, so that's the connection IMHO. These signs are all foretold in the NT.

But we should not deliberately forget, the age had a beginning and will have an end. The Lord is definitely coming.

God Bless All
