  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And guess what? ICE doesnt do raids without a warrant. So there you have it.
They're playing a little fast and loose.

The raids immigration officers are conducting have largely targeted small businesses such as car washes. Some are carried out in a span of minutes. Two business owners said officers did not show a warrant, even when asked for one, raising questions about whether immigration agents are violating constitutional rights in their effort to drive up migrant arrests.

Immigration agents arrested a U.S. citizen and created warrants after an arrest, lawyers say in court

Chicago attorneys were in federal court Thursday accusing federal agents of violating immigration law and the constitutional rights of at least 22 people since January.

The motion filed against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, said federal agents arrested at least one person without probable cause. Attorneys also accused the federal government of making arrests without proper warrants and creating warrants in the field after the arrests.

Leaked Trump Memo Tells ICE to Break into Homes Without Warrants

The memo, obtained by USA Today and issued by Attorney General Pam BondiMarch 14, orders Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to break into the homes of suspected members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua without a warrant.

I'm pretty sure ICE was granted the ability to do roving spot checks by the supreme court....where their only evidence is dark skin and doing something that illegals do (like wait for the bus or hang out outside a Home Depot).

Did I misunderstand that?

Is called profiling and ICE can do it legally. So much for the 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments.

LOL! This slays me.

I can't imagine a more planted looking piece of evidence.

"Quick quick ...grab me that sharpie...."
"dude...you can't read the 'c' and the 'e'...go over it again"
"yeah you can, shut up"
"No dude! Do it right! Someone is gonna think it said "anti-I or something like that".

The guy used an 8mm Mauser?

Obviously I didn't. Otherwise you would have clarified things for me....or perhaps someone would have.
I guess the one asterisk I would add is that ICE agents can generally go to any public place without a warrant, like a Home Depot parking lot. Or the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet.

Three days before the June 14 raids, swap meet officials said they emailed managers, who oversaw staff and vendors, and provided them instructions on how to respond if ICE agents showed up. But a review of the memos and protocols show that officials expected a targeted operation, not a mass federal raid with agents armed with assault rifles in tactical gear.

Three days after the incident, the U.S. Border Patrol uploaded a video of the raid on its Instagram page for what appears to be promotional purposes. Federal immigration officials would do the same the following month with an immigration action in MacArthur Park.

Dozens of video clips show the agents strolling throughout the shopping center, followed by swap meet employees who were observing and recording the agents. The videos show the agents stopping people at random and making hand gestures as if they’re asking for IDs. People are seen showing them identification cards before walking away.

Thanks, I’ll take it as a compliment. I think it’s fair to say no one here wants to have their ideas attached to some deranged killer. The fact is, when the country is ideologically split into two groups, just about every crime is going to be perpetrated by members of one of those two groups. This is a consequence of our national polarization.
You are right again saying our country is divided ideologically into two main camps. And I see no one from either side (Democrat or Republican) trying to bring us back together again. To be honest, I don't think there is a way to bring us back together again. Maybe if we last (the US), in four or five generations, this anger between the two groups may mellow out and people will have been healed from the anger.

I keep thinking back to the Clinton-Trump Election. Both candidates were a terrible choice. Why didn't America have the wisdom to vote third party as a way of saying "We are fed up with you Democrats and Republicans". We would be a little more at peace now. Maybe it would be a good idea to abolish these two political parties from the system and have their members trickle into the smaller parties that are present (Green Party, Libertarian Party, American Solidarity Party, Liberal Party, Constitution Party, Alliance Party, Working Class Party, Socialism and Liberation Party...). Then have the President and Vice President be the two highest vote counts. Just thinking out loud :).

Charlie Kirk was killed and up to now we've seen no riots in the streets over it.
One hypothesis that would explain the facts would be that the sentiments of the right are performative.

I’m not saying that it is true; but it fits the facts.

Hahaha, we don't riot and burn buildings down so we're not genuine.
Nice one

Ah, now we’re cooking. I’ve long wondered why the left’s preferred forms of protest often devolved into general riots and attacks on unrelated institutions like a CVS or Autozone instead of going directly after the government agents and facilities engaging in the conduct they wanted to stop. Believe it or not, I actually think that anti-government violence (if you’re going to excuse that sort of thing, which I don’t) should look more like Jan 6 and less like the BLM or Freddie Grey riots.

Seems like I may not be alone anymore. This could get interesting.

They only have to Identify themselves as ICE agents. Which they all do. They wear uniforms or vests and carry badges which are used to identify themselves.
And full face masks, obviously.

It was not planted. Yes, the evidence is so obvious, it is hard to believe.

no. This administration lies, but that doesn't mean i believe in a conspiracy based on something as small as this.
